On October 2, 2025, the Princess of Wales visited the Royal Air Force (RAF) Coningsby in Lincolnshire to learn about the station’s operational role. It was her first visit to the base since being appointed Royal Honorary Air Commodore in August 2023. Coningsby is one of the UK’s two QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) fighter stations, alongside RAF Lossiemouth.

RAF Coningsby is home to one of the RAF’s Quick Reaction Alert teams, which remain on standby 24/7 to protect UK airspace. On this occasion, the Princess wore a Prince of Wales check suit by Bella Freud.
