On October 5, 2025, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie, together with Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Prince Félix, Princess Claire, Princess Amalia, Prince Liam, Prince Louis, Prince Noah, Prince Gabriel, and Prince Sébastien, attended the Te Deum Mass held at Notre-Dame Cathedral on the occasion of Grand Duke Guillaume’s accession to the throne.
Among those attending the Te Deum were Prince Guillaume and Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg, Archduchess Marie-Astrid and Archduke Christian of Austria, Princess Margaretha and Prince Nikolaus of Liechtenstein, as well as members of the Government, Parliament, the Council of State, the Luxembourg City Council, and the diplomatic corps.
Well this is really the best dress and hat that Stephanie wore during all festivities. Beautiful colour and really the right model for her figure. She's really so very elegant here

For me all Stephanie's clothing for this special occasion have been well chosen and appropriate. Stephanie's wedding dress is my favourite royal wedding dress and that was of course by Ellie Saab. For her second most important dress she returned to Ellie Saab and having seen many photos and especially videos I now think it was very lovely and suited her so well.

GD Stephanie: hat, hair, dress and shoes absolutely perfect. Clutch bag and nailpolish a let down on the look, they would have worked much better with Princess Sibilla's lovely two-tone outfit.

The nails ? Cannot see what is wrong. (I am a person without patience for nails, but don't enjoy the support Stephanie gets).
DeleteOn my screen the nails are coming up as almost painted white. I dislike nail polish of any sort, but if you are going to wear it match the outfit colour exactly or go a shade or two darker.

Hi Anon in London, the nails don’t look white on my screen. It just looks like a neat manicure with a neutral colour and also worked for the prior day. I also don’t like nail polish but prefer this gentle colour to dark hues and deep colours. The handbag on my screen shows as a good contrast colour to the vibrant outfit. ReplyDeleteA beautiful dress GD Stéphanie wears here. A good color for her too. Beautiful shoes. I do not like this type of hat for her. I think a hat in Jacky O style would look good on her or a head band in the same fabric as her dress. Maria Teresa looks beautiful too in her black dress. Prince Henri's female family members are looking good too. They kept their best daydresses to go to church on sunday. Just Princess Claire is dressed like she must go to a funeral and what kind of weird shoes she is wearing ? She almost lost them on her way to the cathedral.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your hat idea. Stephanie looks fab including marvellous hair and I’m so glad she has a hat, but the very shallow crown I don’t think is flattering. The lady in the orange dress has the most superb hat and that style would likely have been marvellous on Stephanie.
DeleteI think Claire’s shoes are very sweet, just not good for a rainy walk. Black is always elegant in Europe, not reserved for funerals, and I think it’s a striking colour for her.

DeleteMaybe Princess Claire is pregnant again and she wants to hide it as long as possible and doesn't want to distract from the new Grand Duke and Duchess. There seems to be a lttle baby bump. All her outfits on this special weekend were so wide and loose with lots of fabric. The outfits were strange and not flattering at all. All other royal ladies had lovely outfits.
Delete@Renee But didn't Claire just have a baby just a few months ago? In under a year, it isn't likely that she would be pregnant again. Maybe she's still carrying weight from her recent pregnancy and prefers to wear black. Lots of women choose this reason for wearing dark colours.

ReplyDeleteIt is interesting that Maria Theresa rarely wears a hat anymore. I seem to recall she did not wear one to the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral either, which was also odd. I’m sure the hat designers breathed a sigh of when they saw the new Grand Duchess wearing one!

Yes to Grandduchess Stéphanie. This is lovely. Princess Claire in a safe black number this time, much better than anything she wore on Friday. Former Grandduchess Maria-Teresa - well, not bad, but her penchant for cut-outs is rather border-line. The extended family (Archduchess Marie-Astrid, Princess Margaretha, Countess Diane) looking good as well. Seems Princess Alexandra is very close to giving birth any day now, hence her - understandable - absence again.
ReplyDeleteThe former grand duchess often irritates me, but I must say all her dresses on this accession were low key so that the entire focus could be upon her daughter-in-law, this is especially noticeable on the cathedral day. Excellent approach, beautiful courtesy. Perhaps princess Claire had similar intentions.

DeleteGoodness...One of the best formal looks I've ever seen Stephanie wear in recent months or even years! In fact she has exceeded her norm in so many ways, rather than just one or two: a dress/outfit that both suits AND fits her incredibly well, some lovely embellishments, a gorgeous colour, a hat that is perfect for her style, and a hairdo that is complimentary to both Stephanie and the hat. This is almost too much of a good thing (lol).... and I hope we see more of the same in the months and years ahead. :)

DeleteI had honestly given up hope of seeing a royal win on the ladies of the Luxembourg RF. But Grand Duchess Stephanie saved her best until last. The raspberry color is so pretty. The cut of the dress is the nicest and most flattering of her choices. The boater style hat gives the look finesse! Brava YRH!

DeleteOh gosh, I should have read Elle’s post more carefully…instead, I assumed she was referring to the stunning adjacent photo of Princess Sibilla and Prince Guillaume. Wrt Princess Marie Astrid, I am old enough to remember when there was actually speculation in the media about her as a possible future wife for England’s Prince Charles! That was of course many, many years ago now, and I remember thinking at the time what an outlandish idea that was.

Princess Sibilla looks superb. Her dress looks good, she picks up the pink of her dress cleverly with her same colored shade hat, shawl and clutch. Her diamond earrings are gorgeous, they are of substance, looking wonderful.
C. Marie-Astrid looks very elegant, her pale pink dress and darker pink shawl looks very elegant.

The outfit is beautiful and it suits her well. However I think it’s ageing her. It’s something she best leaves for when she’s 70+… It reminds me a bit at QCamilla’s dresses.
