On October 25, 2025, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Crown Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofia visited Valdesoto to present the 2025 Exemplary Town of Asturias Award to the parish of Valdesoto, in recognition of its commitment and collective effort to preserve and promote ancestral traditions passed down from generation to generation. The award is granted annually by the Princess of Asturias Foundation to a community that stands out for its solidarity, cultural vitality, and preservation of heritage.
The residents of Valdesoto have worked collectively to restore fountains, paths, natural spaces, manor houses, chapels, and granaries. The town is home to a wide variety of well-preserved or restored historic buildings, such as the Palace of the Carreño family, the Palace of the Camino family, the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist, the Leceñes manor house, the Chapels of the Holy Kings and St. Augustine of Castiello, and the Palace of El Valle, among others.
For the occasion, Queen Letizia wore a navy cardigan jacket by Sézane. Princess Leonor wore a navy denim jumpsuit by the Spanish brand Ramsos and a long brown suede coat by Monpiel, while Infanta Sofia wore a grey collared wool jacket by & Other Stories.

Lovely family pictures. Someone in the last week wrote that she was worried about Letizia looking too skinny; I join the worry.
ReplyDeleteLeonor dresses like an elderly person. It’s so odd for such a beautiful young lady. MR
ReplyDeleteLenor dresses as she chooses for her age and responsibilities. That’s not odd but great. Her opinions on fashion can be very different from yours - no doubt a different culture from yours - and that’s fine. I think she always looks absolutely beautiful, approachable and very polished.
