On October 23, 2025, Princess Sofia and Princess Christina inaugurated the Hat Couture exhibition at the Royal Armoury (Livrustkammaren) in the Royal Palace. Hat Couture is an exhibition celebrating an imaginative accessory—the hat—worn by Swedish royals from the mid-20th century, the golden age of hats, to the 2000s.
The exhibition showcases royal hats from the Royal Armoury’s collections for the first time in a dedicated display. The headpieces once belonged to Queen Louise, as well as Princesses Sibylla and Margaretha. The exhibition also features hats and hair ornaments that have been worn by, and are still owned by, Princesses Sofia and Christina.
The Royal Armoury is one of Sweden’s oldest museums. It was originally a storage place for the Swedish royal family’s costumes, arms, and armour. In 1885, it became a museum open to the public. The museum has been located in the Royal Palace since 1978.

How lovely to see these two princesses who we rarely get to see enough of, carrying out an engagement with just each other. P. Cristina's hat looks good, and P.Sofia's Mouret dress is smashing. A lovely berry colour, and a simple, elegant style and cut that makes it flow very well. Mouret knows how to do great style.

I think I understand why princess Christina chose black for her dress. However, I do not understand why she chose a black hat instead of a brighter colour, which would have been more flattering in every respect. 🌞 Virginia
ReplyDeleteLove the smiles and laughter in the last photo…Princess Christina looks like a lot of fun! And major points for she wearing a hat while attending an event about hats!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress and the headband is perfect.

ReplyDeletePr Christina is a fantastic woman! It’s very interesting to listen to her!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see these two ladies having a great time together. Both looking very good.
ReplyDeleteSofia est magnifique
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
Sofia looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteRavie de revoir Sofia dans ce rouge/framboise qui est sa couleur fétiche ; j’aime beaucoup le style péplum de sa robe mais pas ses cheveux qui auraient mérité d’être mieux coiffés !
ReplyDeleteNormally I like the dresses by Roland Mouret. Princess Sofia's dress is beautiful. The dark red suits her. A pity the dress is too long for her. The hem is almost reaching her ankles. On the model it is in midi style. The upper part is almost to tight and the sleeves are definitely too tight for her arms (pict. N°6). The headband is placed too far on the back of her head and the color doesn't match the color of her dress.
ReplyDeleteI thought so as well, something is just off a bit from being better.
DeleteI love the length and think she got it just right. I also very much like where she has placed the headband. The colour is probably perfect but sometimes with indoor light and two different fabrics, the camera doesn’t pick the true colours.
DeleteI love Sofia's dress, but I think she should have worn a hat for this occasion. Even something espectacular with feathers, flowers and so in would have been perfekt.
