On October 15, 2025, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene inaugurated the new headquarters of the Société Monégasque de l’Électricité et du Gaz (SMEG), now officially named “Immeuble SMEG.” The ceremony took place in the presence of Thomas Battaglione, CEO of SMEG, as well as members of the Princely Government.
Rising over ten floors and covering a total surface area of 12,000 m², this modern building represents a significant milestone in the company’s history, as SMEG celebrates its 135th anniversary this year. It will house SMEG’s teams, private tenants, and several government departments. SMEG, which united the SME and SMG companies in 1976, has been distributing electricity and gas in the Principality of Monaco since the late 19th century.
