On October 20, 2025, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway visited the municipality of Aremark in Østfold County. Outside the Furulund Community Center, the King and Queen were warmly welcomed by kindergarten children and other residents of Aremark. The municipality, located on the border with Sweden, has around 1,350 inhabitants.
Inside the community center, Their Majesties learned more about the municipality’s history and key areas of focus. Mayor Håkon Tolsby gave a welcome address, and there were several musical performances, including by the municipality’s own Ukraine Choir and students from the local school of culture. After the program, the King and Queen met and spoke with representatives from various local organizations and associations.
