Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, and Princess Astrid. Tiara, diamond earrings

On October 23, 2025, King Harald and Queen Sonja hosted a gala dinner for members of the Storting (the Norwegian Parliament) at the Royal Palace in Oslo. Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, and Princess Astrid were also in attendance. King Haakon VII established the Storting Dinner as an annual tradition in 1906, although the event has roots dating back to the time of the union. Since then, the dinner has been held every year.

  1. MM is really gorgeous in red and the Queen looks like she is 30 years younger her age.

  2. Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette Marit - 10 points! Love the Queen’s colour combo, and the Crown Princess is just stunning in red. The drop-dead gorgeous jewels sparkled like fire on the TV news!

  5. Queen Sonia looks really good in that velvet top and fuchsia skirt. Hair and make-up are really beautiful. Princess MM looks very good too. I hope her health condition is going better. Although the red skirt of her dress is rather too wide, I think she is looking younger in this red dress. A narrower skirt would be more elegant.

But Crown Prince Haakon's vest is a bit short....

    1. Ah oui bien vu ! Le gilet a rétréci au lavage, c'est une erreur de programmation de la machine = le valet de chambre va être viré ! ;-) Paloma.

    2. No his black tails over white waistcoat are perfect white tie attire. The black tails coat should snuggly fit the chest unbuttoned, and the white waistcoat should be visible beneath. Tails are a particular fit and this is correct.

Paloma.

  7. They all look nice in well fitted gowns. Love to see Princess Astrid in her gold overlay gown. She is wearing that quirky little tiara that looks like antennas .

  8. Hooray for some vibrant colours and don’t the wearers look stunning. Queen Sonja elegant as usual and CP Mette-Marit in one of the best formal looks I’ve seen for her in ages. Lovely

  9. The Queen looks sensational, love what she is wearing. Her jewel game on this occasion looks superb. The tiara and her hair styled in this way is perfect. Love the pearl choker necklace and earrings . That brooch is gorgeous. The red gown CP MM is wearing, this looks wonderful, suits her beautifully. Her bracelet looks very interesting, she has beautiful earrings and the diamond necklace, stunning.

  10. What great look for the Q and CPss. I believe Q Mary of Denmark has the same dress only the belt is different. So nice to see Pss Astrid there as well.

Paloma.
