  1. Our beautiful Queen Mathilde wanted to show us that she can do the Big Wide Skirt number in yet another pink tone too, this time with uneven hem to gain some more dimension. I am lost for words. Except that the King of the Belgians wears a black tie. But now, that's all.

    1. I am not lost for words, I’m thrilled with this look. The colour is very good for her and both blouse and skirt fit her body type very well and combine beautifully. I think this is one of her most flattering evening looks. As for the uneven hem, it’s beautifully done and quite stunning for an evening event, a little reminiscent of a train.

    2. Anonyme 23 : 46, pouvez-vous donner plus de précisions svp ?
Vous êtes sans voix : d'admiration ou de déception ?
Ce n'est pas clair :-) Merci. Paloma.

  2. Queen Mathilde is wearing a lovely color, but the skirt is too voluminous and long…a shorter knee length would have been b.

    1. I think the skirt is perfect. A shorter skirt would not have flattered her silhouette nearly as well. This is rare perfection for Mathilde. Just gorgeous.

  3. I love the dress, the Queen is wearing. The interesting feature of her bodice and neckline, wonderful addition to this dress, adding interest. I find the cuffs of her sleeves very appealing. The skirt is slimming to me, falls well. I could be wrong, it might be a blouse and skirt. Regardless I love it. The color is sublime, very feminine and elegant. Her shoe and clutch color is perfect. The Queen's hair looks soft and natural. The Presidents daughter Laura looks splendid. Her jacket and black pants and top look good. Black clutch and shoes, fabulous. I do love the half size coat she is wearing , this looks wonderful with her pants.

    1. It *is* a skirt, a typically stiff one from Natan (typical for Natan, not fot the Queen :-).

  4. Queen looks beautiful in her usual designs.
Laura Mattarella would look better in the baggy trousers trend

  5. Mathilde's skirt and blouse are beautiful in fabric, colour and style; a shorter hem on the dress, and a more rosy lip colour, would in my view make it just right.
I note that photo 2 provides an unflattering view of her eye makeup - but as her makeup looks fine in the other photos (I checked the Getty originals), that photo must be atypical.
Ms Matarella looks lovely in the black cape, from what we can see of it, and equally good in the tie-waist wrap-front pants suit underneath. Effortless Italian style. Lyra.

  6. Très belle la fille du Président avec son tailleur/pantalon dont la veste est délicatement nouée - J'aime bien aussi son mini-manteau/cape noire quand elle complète son look classique mais élégant !

  8. My first look at the pictures left me rather disappointed. My trips to Italy gave me usually a quite positive impression about Italian fashion. I liked the choice of Mrs Matarella on the first day. Here I remain on the fence but thought seing her outfit in real may give a better impression. I think it is too much every day style.

  12. I think the queen looks wonderful and elegant as ever. Still I think that QM should be looking even better by not putting any accent at her waist. And when she wears a belt or a skirt the accent is never really at the waist imv but always a little bit too high. That makes her a kind of voluminous

  13. Queen Mathilde looks amazing! A beautifully perfectly Queenly dress! Ms. Mattarella visit wardrobe has not impressed me altho I read others comments and wonder what I'm not seeing? I think her outfit is nice and I would wear that shopping or to dinner. Not sure if it's great for this occasion but then again Mathilde looks great!

  14. Queen Mathilde looks beautiful in this dress and this shade of pale pink--it really suits her and enhances her lovely complexion. Ms. Mattarella looks very nice in her tailored trouser outfit.

  15. Photo 3, despite the lady having thin legs and can wear these skinny pants, it is not becoming. A different style pant or longer jacket might be better. The jacket is very nice. The queen looks lovely, I am not a fan of uneven hems, and as mentioned above perhaps a darker lipstick would of made the world of difference

  16. All the visits that has been announced for today didn't took place or there where no photographers. It has been said that President Matarella wished to visit some places on Thursday. Apparently they were not accompanied any more by King Philippe and Queen Mathilde.

    1. Continuing my comment of 22/10 19:17
There are indeed pictures of the visit to Marcinelle which took place in the afternoon on the second day of President Matarella's visit.
I found them on a website concerning Queen Mathilde. It was a very good welcome there by the mayor and officials of Marcinelle. The citizens stood in the streets to meet and greet the king and queen and of course the president of Italy and his daughter. The outfits of the ladies were the same as during the morning. Since fashion is the main subject of interest on this blog, the rest seems to be of less importance.
