On the occasion of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, King Abdullah II of Jordan visited New York accompanied by Queen Rania, Crown Prince Hussein, and Princess Rajwa, where the Royal Family took part in a series of events. Queen Rania attended a high-level meeting held under the theme, ‘Recommitting to, Resourcing, and Accelerating the Implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action’.
Queen Rania also attended a reception hosted by United States First Lady Melania Trump in New York during the UN General Assembly. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa attended a banquet hosted by United States Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance in Washington, D.C. For the occasion, Queen Rania wore a bow-detail silk satin midi dress by Balenciaga, while Princess Rajwa chose a floral-print shirt and matching midi skirt by Alexander McQueen.
Rania looks very good in dark colours such as this aubergine but in my opinion the light yellow doesn’t work particularly well. The design isn’t at all to my taste, not with pussy bow and not undone as Rania has left it. Melania being so tall would look, in my opinion better in this suit either with flat shoes, or with normal length trousers; the current setup has thrown her out of proportion.
ReplyDeleteRania: I like the purple blouse with the gray skirt, the ivory outfit not so much, it's too shiny.
ReplyDeleteRajwa: I don't understand why she has two belts on her dress.
Mrs. Trump: She's missing a belt, I think pants without a belt look "unfinished".
Mrs. Vance: Nice white outfit, but it would look better with a white jacket. The sleeveless dress looks casual.
Overall, I think the ladies are dressed elegantly, professionally, with respect for the event and the place.

I like the eggplant coloured Ferragamo shirt/blouse the best. It looks rich and silky and Rania looks fab in this colour.
ReplyDeleteAs for the other two outfits, the Balenciaga dress doesn't suit Rania in my view. The style looks old and retro (is it?) and the pale yellow colour doesn't do much for her. I also don't like CP Rajwa's McQueen dress. A thinner less conspicuous belt might have looked better. Due to her beautiful tall frame, the uneven hem doesn't seem to be working for her. The folds are not falling correctly. From the photos it looks like her skirt was accidentally gathered under the belt, causing the front part to be hiked up.
