Queen Mary Attends the Official Opening of Nature Week 2025 in Copenhagen

On Monday, September 1, 2025, Queen Mary of Denmark took part in the official opening of Nature Week 2025 at Ryvangen Nature Park in Østerbro, Hellerup, Copenhagen. Together with pupils from Kildevæld School and members of the Danish Society for Nature Conservation, Queen Mary participated in a series of activities marking the start of a week dedicated to nature, community, and outdoor experiences.

Together with the children, the Queen observed small animals and insects before gathering around the campfire. For the occasion, Queen Mary opted for a relaxed look: a casual dark green outfit paired with a denim shirt from Ralph Lauren, complemented by a piece of jewelry by Danish goldsmith Louise Grønlykke.

Nature Week, formerly known as Nature Day, is a nationwide event organized by the Danish Society for Nature Conservation. Its aim is to encourage more children and families to spend time in nature. Last year, more than 143,000 children from schools and daycare centers across the country took part.
