Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg attended the 50th anniversary of the National Council of Women of Luxembourg (CNFL) at Cercle Cité, alongside CNFL President Nathalie Morgenthaler, President of the Chamber of Deputies Claude Wiseler, Minister Yuriko Backes, and Mayor Lydie Polfer. Founded in 1975, CNFL is a non-profit association. For the occasion, the Grand Duchess wore a 'Bianca' ecru top by Natan.

Doesn’t she look nice. Cute blouse in proportion to her, good sleeve length and the pants fit well. Very nice white/cream/ecru dress on the lady in photo 2, perfect fit. The jacket with the blue trim is interesting, perhaps with different pants or skirt. Overall everyone is nicely dressed for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteThe Grand Duchess looks quite fitting in this outfit, but I think black shoes would have been a better choice with the black slacks. The slacks are quite roomy at the bottom and widen her look. Natan certainly has a love for those shoulder things on so many outfits. I think they limit what other interesting decorations a person could wear, though.
ReplyDeleteIt does not widen her, she is short and there is nothing that will make her taller. As long as they fit and not cling she looks good.

Nicht gefällig und wenig vorteilhaft. Kann sie die Hosenbeine mit der Schwiegertochter austauschen. Das Oberteil ist sehr nett. Die Schuhe sind auch unglücklich gewählt. Bald kann sie sich dann entspannter kleiden. Was bin ich gespannt auf die Thronübergabe. -Dorothe-
ReplyDeleteNothing is widening here, IMHO :-) - because the Grand Duchess is, with due respect, a bit wide herself, especially in relation with her height. Nothing will change that, tighter trousers are not going to make her slimmer. Let's take her as she is, and then, we have a little woman who is not slim but well-rounded all over, but nothing is disproportionate here. This is a lovely blouse, I am happy about the decorative whatever on it, because the alternative would be a deeeep very deep neckline and I don't very much like that on her. She is wearing fashionably wider pants, not too wide, just right. About the non-black shoes: I think if she wore black shoes, then pants and shoes sould be one black mass, we would not know where the one ends and the other begins. So I don't mind those shoes, they go quite well with the blouse.

ReplyDeleteMaria Teresa seems to be such a warm and joyful woman, and I always delight to see her smile. The blouse is quite nice although seems to be cut a bit short. The shoes are really interesting - usd900 calf skin sneakers that give her a 5 cm rise.

ReplyDeleteWhile it certainly suits her, it does - however - not fit her. Around the shoulders/neckline it gaps too wide open, perhaps it has to do with the whole top making a movement up when in motion. I am very much looking forward to Friday coming, when the abdication ceremonies will be in full swing and the outgoing Grandduchess and the new-coming Grandduchess come out with their respective fashion choices. Foreign monarchs plus spouses also included, of course.
ReplyDeleteSome good outfits in the photos (and some poorly chosen). MT is somewhat in the middle of that spectrum. Not her best nor her worst overall look. I agree that a pair of black shoes would have worked better, and possibly a slightly different cut of the trousers (or just a better quality fabric that would drape better, if she prefers this cut).

I’ve not always been impressed with GD MT fashion choices,but this is a perfect choice for her. The cream top with the cream bow is good choice. The wide trouser too is a good choice it balanced out the look.
