  1. Ravissante Sophie dans cette robe Matelier à pans asymétriques ; elle est tout à fait à mon goût - Qui pourrait dire quel est l'homme sur la première photo dans un pantalon bariolé aux couleurs tartan ?!

  2. I am also very positive about the Matelier dress. The Proenza Schouler dress is lovely as well. I would be delighted to wear them myself.

I don’t always appreciate Sophie’s choice of clothing, but I whole heartedly appreciate her and her husband’s duty to King and country. They are certainly a couple the king can call upon to represent him.
Fashion wise,I don’t think the asymmetrical dresses are as flattering on Sophie as a knee length hem would be.
    Lowri.

I agree about the asymmetrical hems.

In my opinion, Sophie ruins whatever merits the Matelier dress might have by wearing a suit-type jacket over the dress (as she often does) instead of something more fitting for a dress (or wearing a merino tank for warmth under it...). This leaves the most unattractive feature fully visible: the uneven hem. The blue dress is visible and quite nice, except the uneven hem. She is really an admirable and beautiful person - but her taste is questionable at best. - One thing more: I would not rest my hand + handbag on the legs of the gentleman she talks to.

I saw that too of " the hand and handbag on the legs of the gentleman....". I wouldn't say it at first, but since you mentionned it too. I think as a royal lady she should know that these things are not done.

Although I agree that the handbag and arm of a lady, in particular of a royal lady, should not normally be on the leg of a man, the duchess had to kneel to welcome this particular veteran on a wheelchair and probably acted unprepared, but from the heart, which I think excuses this slip of protocol.

    3. He doesn't seem to mind, is it really a big issue? I would never have noticed it if you hadn't said it, anon at 13:12. It can be a thing for a second, perhaps Sophie staggered and they are laughing together at it.

    4. I am also among those who think that "rest hand + handbag on the legs of the gentleman" isn't a good idea for a princess.

    5. I agree about the hand and handbag on the gentlemen's leg but to be honest I do not think she was even aware of what she did. totally spontaneous!

Agreed Zuchina! There is no problem here. It’s a beautiful moment when Sophie greeted with joy a man who received her greeting with joy, likely because they know each other.

I like Sophie ‘s choice of dresses. I don’t like those military uniforms on Edward. Didn’t he quit the Royal Marines stating a military career was not for him?

Each of the working royals have ceremonial military roles and uniforms to match in many cases.

    Beautiful looks all around.
The skirt in the last pic is lovely as well.

I like the stone red dress by Matelier. If only she would wear a short jacket or blazer with it. She made that style error before. A normal blazer type jacket does not look good with a dress like that. I see she is wearing new shoes ? Lovely but if it is correct what I see, the shoes have high block heels. Nothing wrong with that but with the Matelier dress they do not match.
The other outfits I do not like like, especially the pink cashmere sweater is not something one can wear with a summer skirt just like that. She makes a style error here again.

14:18 since when was there a rule for pink cashmere sweaters?! I love the look and think soft sweater pair superbly with summer skirts. Not a style error but a choice - as per her jacket with dress.

She sure looks pretty in pink, it suits her so well. Just not a fan of the hemline. Perhaps if she were taller it would hit mid calf rather than ankle, where it just looks like extra fabric.

La robe bleue est assez jolie sauf l'ourlet. Mary de Danemark a porté une robe de même style en 2021 (confirmation de son fils aîné) mais ce n'est pas la même marque et sa robe était bien plus élégante. Paloma.

  11. With the usual reservations of skirt length, asymmetric style and inappropriate shoes, I like all of these dresses. I accept that the jacket does not match the dress at the Tattoo but suspect it was for warmth rather than style. Even on a relatively warm evening, the Castle esplanade is a chilly place. The Countess’s reaction with the veterans is lovely. She must have really made their day

  12. Some of the time, I don't like the style of clothing Sophie wears, but these outfits, are a hit! I love each and every one of them. She looks wonderful. Edward looks magnificent in uniform.

Of all the outfits, I like the pink sweater because it gives Sophie a more youthful and fresh look, whereas the long dresses and dark jacket just drags her down and looks matronly and beyond her age. That's a pity imo.
