Princess Alexandra Attends the Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst
On August 8, 2025, Princess Alexandra of Kent attended her grandson Alexander Ogilvy’s graduation from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, accompanied by her granddaughter Flora Vesterberg (née Ogilvy) and Alexander’s parents, James and Julia Ogilvy. Taking place three times a year, the parade is a private event for friends and family of those successfully commissioning from the 44-week course. The Sovereign’s Parade marks the end of an Officer Cadet’s training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as they are commissioned into the British Army or the armies of other nations. Alexander Ogilvy began his training in September 2024. For the occasion, Flora Vesterberg wore a floral ‘Virginie’ cape and the matching ‘Mara’ dress by Emilia Wickstead.
Lovely to see princess Alexander out and about. Her jacket is wonderful. Such a nice family photograph
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see Princess Alexandra--I have missed her as she has always been one of my favorite members of the BRF! She looks lovely and elegant as always. The family photo is marvelous and true treasure for young Alexander--who deserves congratulations on his achievement. Flora and her mother Julia look wonderful in their pretty summer florals.

How lovely to see Princess Alexandra able to celebrate this event with her family. And The rest of Alexander’s family all look good too. Flora Vesterberg’s outfit is lovely and I really like Julia Ogilvy’s dress. Nice to see that, although frail, Princess Alexandra has not lost her sense of style.
ReplyDeleteIs princess Alexandra the lady with the navy & white hat ?
ReplyDeleteI do not know who the other old lady is either. It is such a long time I didn't see a picture of princess Alexandra that I cannot recognize her.
No, beige hat, green skirt.

Princess Alexandra is in the green skirt and tapestry coat.

Thanks for letting me know which one is Princess Alexandra. I remembered her as a very distinguished and elegant older lady more in the style of the lady in the blue coat and blue/white hat.
DeletePrincess Alexandra's coat is beautiful, but the grass green skirt (dress) and the red shoes remember me of a traffic light. If she had chosen a skirt (dress) in dark red or the same color as her hat and shoes in a dark beige or light brown, it would have been much more classy. Her stockings are too white. Natural colored stockings or even a bit darker could have been a solution to hide the veins on her legs.
I expect reactions of body shaming, etc... But I find it really a pity that nobody of her entourage didn't saw it and advised her to choose different stockings. Many older ladies I know wear medium colored panty hose to hide the consequences of getting older.
@20:05 - Princess Alexandra is 88 and surely knows her preferred stockings. It’s not up to anyone in the entourage of an accomplished 88 year old to tell them to cover up their age! That’s wrong! With older people we celebrate them and thank them, look after them and enjoy them - not cover them up. Bravo to all who live long lives and let us never ask them to cover themselves to hide their age!
DeleteDear 12:05, when you’re older, it’s ok to let your age be seen. No need to change your stockings to hide your age! Good on her for being late 80’s and being out and about enjoying life! No criticism of her fashion is required.

DeleteLike I said, I expected critics for telling what I do not like of her outfit.
If we cannot say anything on anybody lately on a fashion blog, I wonder why this blog still exist. I am almost 80 myself, I have to take in account already certain signs that come with age. I see the changes other women of my age have to deal with and they adapt their outfits which does not mean they dress like older ladies did before. About the stockings : I never liked white stockings or panty hose on anybody. There has been a period in the 80s if I remember correctly, white lace stockings were fashion. It was horrible. I've always been told that in one outfit one cannot mix colors like grass green and heavy red. I will never allow when I will be over 80 years old and my brain is still working to dress in colors that are not matching.
That is the reason why I didn't recognize Princess Alexandra on these pictures because I remembered her as an elegant and classy lady. Always dressed in stylish clothes. What she is wearing here is quite the opposite.
Princess Alexandra has a nice jacket and hat. The floral print white and green is pretty and feminine. The blue dress not a fan of but like the shoes.
ReplyDeleteQuelle belle photo de famille où je n'ai pas reconnu de suite la princesse Alexandra vêtue d'une longue veste très colorée !
ReplyDeleteWhat nice picture of the family. So nice to see Pss Alexandra again. Sandhurst is the Place. Nice outfits.

So nice to see Princess Alexander at this occasion. Age does not diminish her beauty or wonder sense of clothing styles.
