On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Anne, The Princess Royal, attended a rehearsal for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Redford Barracks in Edinburgh. Princess Anne met with performers taking part in this year’s Tattoo, including members of a Ukrainian naval band playing for the first time since the full-scale war began.[ads id="ads1"]
The Princess watched international teams rehearse their displays of military drill, music, and dance ahead of the show's run at Edinburgh Castle, which begins later this week. In addition to military bands from the UK’s armed forces, this year’s show will feature performers from the United States, Poland, and Switzerland. The event is held every August as part of the Edinburgh Festivals.

DeletePlease don't censor others comments. I feel hair is fair game on a fashion blog. I don't agree that hair on an older woman cannot look healthy and presentable. Princess Anne has access to the world's best hair stylists and experts. With a little bit of effort she could have much better looking hair. I think for someone in her position she should do her best to at least look presentable. It shows respect to those that come out to see her. And that goes for everyone no matter what their station is life happens to be. People today don't care how they present themselves because our standards for dress and grooming are so low.
DeleteDear Sandra, when I see another commenter say someone has a horrible body feature, I will point it out. It’s disrespectful and it doesn’t make this a nice place to share. There is always a kind way to share opinions without being disrespectful, as you demonstrate. As for your points, all interesting to read, so thank you. I really enjoy learning others’ ideas. From my perspective I think Anne is always very well presented, and that her hair (although not to many commenters’ taste) is very neat and her choice of style. We can’t ask someone in their 70s to change for our tastes.

I am fine with hair comments because if it was a nice style people would be gushing over it like they do Catherine. As long as she still uses lipstick which brightens her face, she is great. But her hair, and as a 74 year old myself, is not the best it could be. Her hair does tend to get frizzy which is hard to tame. She seems to like it but fashion wise it is a miss.

Age has nothing to do with it. Times when older ladies had to dress old and have an hairstyle old ladies had is over. I already discussed her clothes and I am not going to repeat it. Except : the jacket was new and fashionable.
I am 78 years old and from what I read from others in their 70s on this blog, I think we all dress "young" and have an up-to-date hairstyle. I hope for all of us we can continue doing this as long as possible.
When you reach a certain age, or level in life, you tend to adopt a signature look - for The Princess Royal, it is her hairstyle. I, for one, love it and see it as something that stands the test of time, and is synonymous with her when you see her in profile or a shadow image, similar to Princess Beatrix's hairstyle. They are Iconic hairstyles.

And of course you have the freedom to point it out. But on the other hand others have the freedom to express their thoughts even though we may not agree with them. And yes should try to be kind because after all, we ourselves are not perfect.
Nice jacket but it doesn't match the skirt. Pantyhose are too white and too thick . I doesn't understand the use of gloves. The other day surprise, she didn't wore gloves with her off white jacket and navy details. Now all of a sudden they are back again.
ReplyDeleteAnne often wears gloves, they are part of her personal style and were normal in the era when she was growing up. She’s a very practical dresser and always very neat, and her handbags/shoes/gloves are never the latest fashion because she buys quality and uses it for years. Environmentally speaking, very respectful fashion habits.

In Princess Anne's very personal style like you call it, I cannot see anything which is stylish. Today good quality is still made and is adapted to the colors and shapes of 2025. And I do not mean the wide pants and too wide jackets, but classic clothes that are fitting. Today Anne is wearing a fashionable jacket. Unfortunately with the tartan this jacket isn't a match. A red or blue jacket could. Best she hangs the light grey jacket in her wardrobe again and wear it later on with white or dark grey trousers.
That jacket looks like a raincoat with the bottom cut off. The boxy shaped does nothing for her Nice figure.

ReplyDeleteA few months ago, maybe a year ago, Anne suffered an accident and sustained concussion and I really think she has never got over this mishap properly. She looks quite frail here, although for her age she does really well.
