On July 13, 2025, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, attended the men's singles final tennis match between Italy's Jannik Sinner and Spain's Carlos Alcaraz on the fourteenth day of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon.

The Wales family spent time with Spain’s King Felipe before the match. The King was at Wimbledon to support Carlos Alcaraz. For the occasion, the Princess of Wales wore a bright blue midi dress by Roksanda, while Princess Charlotte wore a white dress with blue accents. Italian Jannik Sinner won the match, claiming his first title.

I like this two toned blue dress.
But her waist is as tiny as Charlotte's! She needs to add some weight.

Kate's figure has always been with a small waist. Look back at her wedding dress. Although it's a nice dress and colour it could have been shorter so that it might have looked more voluminous

Iagree with you. The shoes are not the right color.
I would have worn a lighter color.

I’m always especially pleased to see the Princess of Wales and her family. As ever, they all looked impeccable—though Catherine appeared rather slender again, which, given last year’s episode, left me a little concerned. Putting fashion aside, there was one detail that gave me pause: I’ve always regarded William and Catherine as exemplary parents—attentive, caring, and protective. That’s why I was surprised to see the children sitting in the full sun for such a long time. Catherine herself wore a sunhat, but Charlotte and George didn’t have any covering.
It struck me that someone from the event team might have noticed and perhaps could have at least offered them a Wimbledon cap. Of course, these things can easily be overlooked in the moment, but let's be honest, ultimately, sun protection is a parental responsibility. Still, I couldn’t help but feel for the children. In today’s climate, being mindful of sun exposure is more important than ever. Frieda

Frieda, I’m with you on wondering where hats are on the whole crowd! So I don’t think it unusual that the kids don’t have hats as almost nobody in these photos has. That said, for sun protection it would be highly sensible. I hope Catherine sets the trend as it is much better for us in mid summer to protect that fragile facial skin - and hats are so fun and the right one for the face is truly a lovely statement.

I am sure the Wales parents do not need us here to clarify where their parental responsibilities are? Sun Protection Factor 50 does more for you than this wonderful sunhat of Catherine, just look at the greatest part of her face full in the sun: https://www.instagram.com/p/DMDw1f3Ph5N/?img_index=3

Seeing the children yesterday was concerning. According to the Met Office it was pushing 30C (so hotter inside the stands) with 50% relative humidity. Seeing an almost 12-year old boy in a suit and tie when light weight chinos and a short-sleeved shirt would have been more appropriate was not kind. Children do get dehydrated and overheat faster than adults.

@Anonymous14/7/25 12:21: I don’t mean to patronise anyone here—this is just my personal thought. I was talking about general sun protection, of course. That includes high-factor sunscreen (SPF 50+), especially for kids, plus proper clothing and a hat. Even that nice Wimbledon cap would’ve helped. I really felt for those two children. But let’s leave it at that, Frieda

I have a few thoughts here. Firstly, hats are not allowed in the Royal Box because they tend to obscure the view for others. It is part of the dress code, just as jackets and ties are required for gentlemen. To address the comment that "light weight chinos and a short-sleeved shirt" could have been worn by George is incorrect. If they wanted George to dress more comfortably, they would have needed to sit in general seating. I was surprised to see Kate wearing a hat, but she has done it before. Years ago, when Meghan brought a hat, everyone seemed to know this and tore her up for bringing it. She is not the only one that has broken the rule, but maybe the rule should be amended. As for the children not being protected from the sun, these are some presumptuous comments. Why on earth would anyone here make the assumption that William and Kate have not made sure their children have been protected from the sun? None of you making these assumptions can know that. They are most likely wearing a strong sunscreen. There is no sign of a sunburn on any of them, which would be obvious if they weren't wearing a strong SPF after that amount of time in direct sun at those temperatures. William most likely has sunscreen on his face and head as well.

    6. There is a dresscode to adhere to when sitting in the royal box. That means men (likely any male from school age onwards) have to wear suit and tie. Also, I'm pretty sure that Princess Charlotte and Prince George had sunscreen applied to their skin (the parts exposed to sunshine). I'm also sure that the Wales' spoke to their children beforehand about what it means to sit for a couple of hours in the heat (and in a suit like Prince George did), and that they could have chosen not to go in case they didn't really want to accompany their parents. Water, btw., is supplied to them in the royal box.

Well if they prefer not to take into account what every doctor or scientist recommend to all of us, even with a SPF 50, it is not very wise to sit in the sun with the temperatures we have(had) this Summer in Europe, it is up to them. If you have a sunburn it becomes almost always visible in the evening, not to speak of headaches and irregular hartbeats. It is up to them if they rather prefer to follow old rules in the royal box than use common sense, they must not be surprised for the consequences.

      Why be so alarmed?
As far as I know , the match took place in the afternoon and the local temperature was within 25 degrees Celsius ( probably a bit more inside the box).
There Is no evidence that Catherine and William didn't care after their children's wellbeing including providing a correct sunscreen.
Please, could someone give proof that no sun protection had been applied on the children before leaving home or that no water supply was provided by the staff to people sitting in the royal box or elsewhere?
Baseless assumptions should be avoided anyway.

This blue dress is perfect for the occasion. It suits a princess beautifully. The skirt has plenty of swish, and moves beautifully as she walked. I love the colour of her shoes. The necklace is gorgeous, I like this very much.

Catherine's dress is way to long, with the enhanced small waist it does NOT make a good look. Perhaps loosen up the waist and adjust length mid way it would have been better.

In my opinion, the dress the POW is wearing is much too long, especially for this type of fabric. The colour suits her beautifully though, and the straw hat looks great on her.

i said the same thing, and with an extremely slender waist enhanced by the dress design, the dress is not flattering at all! look at photo 5 where Charlotte is waving. only the shoulder pads saved the day, giving some support

  12. I agree with other posters that the dress is too long. It should be shortened to just below the knee IMHO. The electric blue colour is gorgeous but what's with the black bow on her right shoulder? It so unnecessary and creates visual clutter. The matching blue bow on the left is lovely and adds the perfect accent no need for the black one.

It is the tennis club bow in club colours not a piece of jewelry

The bow is not black, but purple and green. It is her Wimbledon bow, which is worn by patrons of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. This was addressed in the post of her appearance at the women's finals.

Princess Charlotte dress was a Sarah Burton for Givenchy design. She’s already turning into a fashionista like her beautiful Mom.
I like Catherine’s dress, but a a small belt might have broken the block color.
As beautiful as Catherine is,I thought she looked a little tired. A sign I think that she’s still making her way back from her illness. I hope she takes the Summer break to build up her strength and resolve.
I was impressed at Prince William attire. I thought he looked very suave in his double breasted jacket and white chinos.

I don't love Catherine's dress, but it is the same general style she seems to prefer. The one I am most impressed with is William! Such a nice change for him to be wearing white trousers with his jacket. The only thing I would change is the double breasted jacket. I associate double breasted jackets so strongly with the older men in the family (Prince Philip, King Charles, Prince Edward) that I long for him to keep a more modern vibe in his style of dress.

    Belle famille !

Princess Catherines dress is too long as well as Princess Charlotte's. I will not continue to talk about the clothes as I already gave my opinion on the fact that they all take very high risks by sitting in the sun for 2 hours in those temperatures. In the future it might be necessary to organize the tennis matches at Wimbledon during another period of the year due to the climate changes.
