On July 17, 2025, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, attended the 4th Knights of Charity Gala at the Château de la Croix des Gardes in Cannes, France. The Knights of Charity Gala is an annual event that raises funds for various charitable organizations. The 2025 edition of the event featured a performance by opera singer Andrea Bocelli.
The fourth edition of the Gala raised substantial funds for several associations dedicated to children’s causes, including Save the Children, UNICEF Children, Sarah’s Trust for Children, ABF for Children, DeliverFund.org, Hilandar 4 Humanity: Children in Need, and the Gisele Bündchen Foundation.
For the occasion, Sarah Ferguson wore a dress by London-based brand Safiyaa, made of heavy crepe fabric. She completed the look with a pop of pink — a clutch by Furla.
Wow that is a stunning dress on Sarah and the very best sleeve design I’ve seen come through this “era of the cape”. Absolutely gorgeous sleeves, colours and Duchess (ex Duchess?).
ReplyDeletethe best she has ever looked

DeleteI respectfully disagree with you in part.
I find the shoulder area/ sleeves too pointy and stiff.
Kate ' s outfit for Trooping The Colour was a bit pointy too, so I
hope it's not an emerging trend in Europe.
Cate.
Thank you 13:11 for your respectful disagreement, which I do find respectful and interesting. I didn’t notice the shoulders were pointy when I first commented , rather I noticed the beautiful swish of the double sided crepe cape sleeves. Looking again, I wouldn’t want such points on all garments either!, but I think as an interesting design idea here for a pricey possibly once-off (?) garment, I think they “make a statement”. Ok, I don’t really know what that phrase means, but I do think they are a fair contrast to the curly swoop of the sleeves below! Kind regards!
DeletePerhaps the best evening dress Sarah has worn since the time she was styled for a multi-page fashion shoot by Vogue magazine quite some years ago. Lovely hairstyle too. (A slightly more lime green would suit her even better, but that is a minor point in the context of this beautiful design in crepe, which is a perfect choice for achieving a smooth surface and clean lines.) I hope she explores more of Safiyaa's styles. Lyra

ReplyDeleteReally?? Why are you commenting. You have added nothing of value. You just want to be rude.
DeleteSarah looks really good here! The figure-hugging style of the dress, the colour, the grooming - everything. Even the pointed shoulders as a quirky style element get a smile from me. Well done!

I like this look on Sarah. The dress and green shade suits her coloring.
ReplyDeleteThe lady in the red dress looks stunning.
Lowri.
When I see her - I just start to think about Lady Diana, - miss her.

OMG can we stop talking about lady Di. Never reinvent the past
DeleteGreen looks spectacular on Sarah with her red hair. I love the dramatic sleeves
ReplyDeletewith the contrasting pink. It was smart of the designer to keep the gown simple to highlight the sleeves. The pink purse was the perfect accessory.
I completely agree with you
DeleteThis is a clever design. The upper arms are covered just enough, just still hiding the part of the arm that women like to cover as they age. Pink and green are a great combination. Sarah looks radiant!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous look for Sarah! She always shines in green--it's perfect for her complexion. Except for the pointy part of the sleeves, this is a great dress for her--and the pop of bright pink with the sleeves is great design idea. Sarah looks wonderful here.
