The Duchess of Edinburgh is making a three-day official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina to mark the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. On July 10, 2025, the Duchess met with the Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, at the Presidency building in Sarajevo. Later, the Duchess toured the old town of Sarajevo.

Afterwards, the Duchess visited the Missing Persons Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina, accompanied by the British Ambassador, Julian Reilly. The Srebrenica massacre, also known as the Srebrenica genocide, was the systematic killing of more than 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys in and around Srebrenica in July 1995, during the Bosnian War.
