On July 23, 2025, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, accompanied by Crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, presided over the 2025 Princess of Girona Awards ceremony, held at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. Each year, the awards are presented in five distinguished categories: Arts, Business Creation, Research, Social, and International. Pablo Sánchez, Manuel Bouzas, Andreu Dotti, Antoni Forner, Valentina Agudelo, and Gabriela Asturias were the young individuals recognized in this edition of the awards.

The Princess of Girona Awards promote and encourage initiatives and efforts in the fields of scientific research, artistic creativity, and solidarity. For the occasion, Crown Princess Leonor (Princess of Asturias) wore a gray jacquard blazer suit by Bleis Madrid, while Queen Letizia wore a wool blazer suit with satin lapels by Mango.
Both Princess are exceptional beautiful - they have it.

And fabrics like cotton or silk will last longer it is stronger. I hope people are making in the future more conscious choices.

I know it is the custom in the Spanish RF but the black color for the royal ladies doesn't appeal to me. The ceremony is looking like a funeral.

Actually at funerals no one wears black nowadays in Spain and most of them are not even religious.

حذفIn my country people are no longer wearing black at funerals either (religious or not), but when a funeral takes place in a royal family they still wear black. All the royals wore black at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II of the U.K. (I am not not British). If there will be a funeral in another royal family in the future you will see that every other royal who is attending will wear black.
Leonor's suit is in navy as well.
حذفIt needs to be repeated every so often here that black is not only a mourning color. That is a very old fashioned idea. Black is everything from formal to edgy to modern to mournful. Black is an everyday color for many people.
The Royal lady's should really up their game, because the Spanish King is definitely the best dressed and most attractive male royal.

حذفSince when it is forbidden to say that a king or a prince looks good. Many comments in the past said that King Felipe's suits were impeccable and that he is a very attractive man. Nobody told us in the past that it was forbidden to say that from a king. All the comments which said they found King Frederick of Denmark an attractive man with his beard never have been told they could not say that.

The royals' outfit is absolutely festive, showing respect for the occasion and the awardees, but at the same time humble, as it should be, when it is not them who stand in the limelight.
