On July 3, 2025, Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko attended the official Japan Day ceremony at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, held in Osaka Prefecture. The celebration took place at the Shining Hat Expo Hall, one of the main venues at the Expo site. Following the ceremony, cultural performances were presented, showcasing a blend of traditional and modern Japanese elements — including gagaku (ancient court music) and manga.
What a delight to see the Crown Princess wear such a bright and beautiful pattern! I hope we see her in more bold and colourful dresses like this. Lyra.

حذفFull agreement here on the really lovely green dress. So nice to see the Japanese royals in strong colours and well fitting style. I’m not mad on the white low heeled courts but I’ll take them over the ugly wedges we’re seeing elsewhere
حذفI like this dress on CP Kiko. If you look carefully, you can see that it is simply but exquisitely styled, belted bow and all. I'm also happy that it's not another pastel dress or suit, and the busy print which might otherwise be jarring, is quite refreshing for a change.
ردحذفHowever the winner for me is the white gown of the woman in the first photo, from the little we can see (and the accidental little bit of 'too much' :) ) Lovely combination of figure, dress, hair and style.

Princess Kiki looks ravishing in this dress — and her hairstyle here is quite flattering. She would look beautiful in an elegant updo, which would require slightly longer hair; I hope she might consider exploring that possibility. — Jane

ردحذفI think the outfit of the crown Princess would have more bounce with dark blue accessories, however, I do not know whether this would be possible, as I read somewhere that protocol dictates practically all sartorial details, colours, sleeve lengths, absolutely everything, also movements, especially in the presence of the empress, which is not of course the case here.
