On July 3, 2025, Denmark marked the beginning of its Presidency of the Council of the European Union with a visit from the European Commission and an official opening ceremony in Aarhus. In the evening, the opening ceremony was held at Aarhus City Hall, attended by King Frederik and Queen Mary, the College of Commissioners, the Danish Government, and a number of specially invited guests.
King Frederik and Queen Mary hosted a reception on board the Royal Yacht Dannebrog to mark Denmark’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Among the guests were President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council António Costa, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and members of the Danish Government and the European Commission.
Lovely: summery, elegant, statuesque even. Love it!

Beautiful jumpsuit ! And Frederick’s suit looks great this time !!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful couple. Fredrik’s suit is extremely well cut. Mary looks fantastic in this style and colour, but best of all is the fantastic up-do.
ReplyDeleteI would say that this is a comparatively low key outfit for Mary but she wears it well (lots of folds on the top) and of course, the colour is lovely.

Absolutelely appropriate. The other guests have worked all day under a tight schedule and their outfits are the same as earlier. This was not a gala dinner.
Delete@Anon 09:34 Yes, and now that more photos have been added and we can see the full length of the jumpsuit face-on, I like it even more than I already did. The folding is cleverly done. Of course this is not a gala.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful as ever!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress, gorgeous hair, gorgeous flowers. And the King is not too bad either.
ReplyDeleteA nice colour for the queen. The king seems to have a new suit, it fits so much better than the tight pants and jacket. Good length on the jacket.
ReplyDeleteAgree !!
DeleteStunningly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMESH
Perfection. This is a great look for Q Mary.

Simple elegance, sometimes less is more. words that come to mind are statuesque, graceful and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like the jumpsuit. I’m sure QM wore at an Olympic party in Paris last Summer. I would have preferred a shoe in matching color. I find a different color stops the fluidity of the overall look. Her hair and make are on point.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
Wow! Love that color on her. She's glowing.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very chic look - so simple and elegant, with very subdued jewellery - love the hairstyle too. I think Charlene would love this minimalist jumpsuit look too. The red is not Mary's most complementary red, but it doesn't detract from the overall positive effect. Nice work Mary! Lyra.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to invite the president of Ukraine, King Frederik!
ReplyDeleteMary est magnifique, comme toujours.
ReplyDeleteAw the little girl 4th photo looks lovely in her dress, very pretty feminine dress for her. The Queen looks beautiful. I love this red gown, gorgeous style and fit, suits her beautifully. I like the slight gather on the shoulder area, adding interest to this gown, like the addition of the belt. I like the color of her shoes and clutch. The single stud diamond earrings are the perfect choice. I love her hair back off her face and up. Beautiful presentation.
ReplyDeleteHello,@ Ava, hope you are doing well.
DeleteI do agree with your comment.
I personally find these pics a bit deceptive as Q.Mary actually wore a fabulous jumpsuit which looked like a gown!
Regardless, she was indeed spectacular in this red outfit and the little girl was so beautiful and adorable, too.
Hugs to you👍👋

DeleteHello, @ Ava, thank you so much!!
DeleteYou are always so kind and supportive to me.
Your words really sound so tender, like the one my Mum used when talking to me.
I'm fine, though a bit tired, so I'm trying to make up for lost sleep and relax for a while.
Yes, I'll take good care, thank you wholeheartedly!
All the best for you too and hugs!!
And , please, remember: I always read all of your lovely comments👍👋
Mary looks so fresh, modern and classic, perfect!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteBelle combinaison rouge qui épouse à merveille la silhouette de Mary ; le costume de Frederick est superbement bien coupé !
ReplyDeleteOn the back view one can see it is a jump suit. On the face side one can see it when one know it is a jump suit. The weird cut however of the right leg until the waist makes it look like it is a long evening dress. It is a rewear and the cut of the trousers was fashion last year at the time of the Olympic Games in Paris. CP Elisabeth of Belgium wore cream colored trousers which had the same cut. I prefer the regular cut for a jumpsuit. Red is a good color for Queen Mary. Hairdo is classic and goes with every outfit.
ReplyDeleteLovely colour and style!
ReplyDeleteWide leg jumpsuits can be unflattering but this MM jumpsuit has very flattering and interesting cut. Mary looks so elegant in it and this color suits her. And I love that she put her hair up. Another winner look from the Queen.
ReplyDeleteKaarin
I think one of the reasons this flatters Mary is it’s well matched to her figure but also that the material is a little sheer and quite soft, so it sits very well. For me these photos are reminiscent of Mary’s red outfit for the pre wedding concert, … something in the red and her poise and her hair and natural joy
DeleteI don’t find that this jump suit is particularly flattering for the figure.
ReplyDeleteRed definitely draws the attention.
ReplyDeleteMary is slim so she looks good in anything. I wonder are they as popular as queen Margrethe is?
Imo these two have to work harder at their role, as the media portrayed the king as reluctant to take the position, and Mary is not Danish, whereas QM always portrayed a willingness to succeed her father. For me the king still gives the vibe that he would rather be elsewhere.
DeleteI wonder what the white spots on her arms might be. They are visible when one click on the first picture. I also saw it on other Summer pictures from last year. It looks like white freckles.
DeleteI can completely understand if Frederik has been resistant about his role. It must be terrible to be forced to do something for the rest of your life if you have other desires. I think royal life looks glamorous from our perspective, but the reality is much different. As with other senior royals, his life has never really been his own. I commend him for rising to the occasion and Margrethe for being as tolerant as she was while he lived as much "life" as he could before his ascension to the throne. I suspect Mary has been tremendous in helping Frederik accept his role.
DeleteThe born royals want out (in their young years) and the commoners want in.
DeleteDes taches de rousseur blanches ? Peut-être une bizarrerie de pigmentation !
ReplyDeleteSunspots nothing more nothing less.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of white sunspots please explain ? It is always interesting to know what it is and what is the difference with brown spots for which dermatologists are recommending special cremes to avoid it. And also using suncreme 50+ the whole year. Thx.
