On June 30, 2025, the Dutch royal family posed for the media during their annual summer photo session in the garden of Huis ten Bosch Palace. King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, Princess Amalia, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane took part in the session along with their dog, Mambo, to mark the 2025 summer holiday. The traditional summer photocall is one of two held annually in which the Dutch royal family participates.
For the photo session, Queen Máxima wore a midi dress by Zimmermann, while Princess Amalia wore a green floral top by Rotate. Princess Alexia opted for a green midi dress by COS, and Princess Ariane wore a striped linen-blend vest and wide-leg trousers, both by Max Mara.

First and foremost, the family looks lovely. Really nice summer photos and green is the order of the day, both on them and around them.
ReplyDeleteFashionwise, Alexia and Maxima are my favourites. Simple summerwear that fits them and that they look good in. Noting OTT. Amalia really looks amazing - I love her with her hair pulled back and she looks really pretty. She fits into those white jeans or trousers amazingly well, and I smile favourably at her sneakers. Her top adds a dash of pizazz except for the sleeves which to me let the outfit down. They're too big and puffy. Since the chest area is already quite shapely, this top would have smashed it if it was a sleeveless halterneck. Ariane's outfit would have looked nicer buttoned up, as on the model, so that the horizontal lines of the pattern showcased her beautiful height and figure. But all said, these are very attractive photos of them all. King WA has lots to be very proud of, including himself.

PAriane I have to say is my least favourite outfit, though it fits well on her tall frame. Overall some very pretty ladies the king is sure to be proud of.

DeleteAll the hairstyles are lovely, and the variety of styles is very pleasing. However, none of these outfits are fully successful in my view. In particular, the lime green garments are not the best colours for these princesses, casting uncomplimentary tints onto their faces.

The king's sage green linen jacket - fashionable, interesting, great colour for him.
Amalia's green sneakers - a fresh change from the ever-present and predictable wedge espadrilles. However, I agree that her top is too voluminous.
Ariane's striped ensemble - if the waistcoat had a deep v-neck, this outfit would be a real winner. The colours suit her and the stripes reflect her youthful energy. Lyra.
If the waistcoat had a deep V-neck, she couldn't wear it like the model as a top. Now she can wear it in 2 different ways.

DeleteThe pictures are taken under the trees, sometimes the sun is shining through the leaves which creates shadows on their outfits, arms and sometimes on their faces. But in temperatures (today until 37° degrees C, it is wiser to look for places were they are in the shadow).

ReplyDeleteWhat could be more fitting than the Dutch queen wearing a dress that reminds one of Dutch (Delft) porcelain? Well done. I don't care overly much about Princess Ariane's Max Mara outfit. Perhaps I might have liked it a little more should she had chosen to wear it like the model did. Princesses Amalia and Alexia are nice to look at, however, the dress of Princess Alexia could have made use of an iron before stepping out.
ReplyDeleteFor me, Alexia wins. Her outfit is what I would call "effortless": No effort to be overly fashionable. Beautiful simple design, very nice colour for her, she looks terrific - the only outfit I would wear myself. Maxima's dress unites everything I will be happy to leave behind next season, first of all those blown up sleeves, earlier the domain of small girls, also the ruffles on the bottom of the skirts too. Too much of everything. Amalia is excused, because she wears simple white jeans to this really spectacular blouse and looks formidable. Ariane: well, yes, OK, but the colours are somewhat dull. All in all, they all look nice - but Alexia is best.

ReplyDeleteI had to go back after reading the comments to have a closer look. Although I am not a fan of the puffy sleeve trend P.CA can pull it off because she is tall. I also noticed in the last 12th photo that the back is open with ties of some sort, hard to see. I do like the queens dress the best and think the Amelia would look very nice in it. I find Alexia’s dress too plain, it could use some interest like a belt. Still can’t say I like Ariana’s suit, it’s okay but not I guess I was looking for something more feminine. The king looks very nice. I wonder how much influence their aunt P. Laurencien has on their choices since she has an edgy style

DeleteThrough their mother Queen Maxima the tree sisters learned probably some fashion rules which one always should take into account. They all 3 have a different styles. They are allowed to choose the clothes they wish to wear. When they were younger they made mistakes. Now that they are older they made some corrections in their fashion style.
They all look good.
I like Queen Maxima in this dress. She looks much better with it than the model. In some pictures the blue print is looking better than in other where it looks too pale. They all look ready to leave for the Summer holidays.
ReplyDeleteOk, I´m going to say it straight out: Amalia has lost a lot of weight, and she looks so much better. She is beautiful, and now she feels beautiful as well. This is amazing to see - the girl that used to hide behind big capes and jackets, behind bulky fabrics and curtains of hair is now confident and dresses accordingly. She is now finally able to wear what she really likes. I´m happy to follow her style evolution from stiff and costume-y to youthful, natural and fresh. She was always appropriate and elegant, but now she´s more and more in tune with herself. It shows.
ReplyDeleteI like Maxima´s dress minus the ruffle. I like Alexia´s dress - it works great with her hair colour. Ariane´s outfit is ok, I actually like the black top for contrast. But the trousers are too long. Willem-Alexander looks great.
@Vanessa, I totally agree with your comments. The Princess of Orange has been transformed and is drop dead gorgeous. It’s lovely to see the confidence this has brought her and the stylish clothes she now feels comfortable in wearing. Well done to her Dad as well. He looks so much better after losing weight, not youthful exactly, but a lot fitter.

DeleteAmalia steals the show for me - she is stunning, her hair is perfect, great make up, trendy outfit (similar worn by my teenage daughter!) - most of all how poised she seems. Alexia really suits this simple green dress and looks elegant. Ariane's outfit is my least favourite but she is a lovely young woman with a beautiful smile and boy has she grown tall!I
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the ruffled sleeves with high neckline and busy pattern of her dress, but Maximas hair and make up are on point and as ever the camera loves her. I think the King looks great, jacket a great colour for him and everything fits him well.
Nice to see them together and hopefully this won't be the last of the photo sessions now the girls are all adults...
I thought Amalia broke her arm 2wks ago. No cast & it looks normal. Wow, how do the royals heal so quickly - or was it simply a bad sprain? Seriously curious about her arm. ~~Ruthie
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, she had a severe fracture of her upper arm from a riding accident. She'd had surgery at University Clinic Utrecht the day after and was discharged after another day. Then she visibly wore an arm support for the first week, and might continue to do so for most hours of the day. She seems to be able to take it off for short periods of time, like on official engagements. The operation seems to have worked very well in putting together the broken bones. Just no awkward movements or twisting, much resting of the arm, and she shall be fine.
