On June 14, 2025, Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands attended the annual Members’ Day of the Association for Unlimited Reading (Vereniging Onbeperkt Lezen) in Hilversum. The association represents readers who rely on adapted reading formats, such as those who are blind, visually impaired, have dyslexia, or have a motor disability. Princess Laurentien attended part of the plenary program and delivered a speech. She also engaged in conversations with association members.
The Association for Unlimited Reading (formerly the NLBB Association for the Reading Disabled) is a Dutch advocacy organization for people who find it difficult or impossible to read printed books or texts due to a visual impairment, dyslexia, aphasia, or another disability. Through its activities, the association aims to promote the accessibility of literature and information. Princess Laurentien is the patron of the association.
Pour une fois, je trouve que la princesse est bien coiffée ; élégante sa robe sans fioritures !
ReplyDeleteVery nice dress, too much costume jewelry the earrings are ok but the chain is overkill.
ReplyDeleteShe would look nicer with longer hair and a different hair-style the same when she was younger.
This time she has a normal short haircut. The best in a long time. Not everybody likes long hair. Her hairstyle like it is now is up-to-date, many ladies of a certain age prefer a short hairstyle like this.
DeleteI mean a bob or shoulder lenght haircut not that long I think it will softens up her face.
DeleteThere is nothing wrong with her face. Shoulder length hair is pretty long for someone who prefers and is used to have short hair.
DeleteI love the color of the dress but the necklace is too chunky
ReplyDeletefor my liking.
Cate.
I agree, the bracelet and earrings would have been enough. That necklace should be retired.
DeleteShe has got a strong face, but her feeling for fashion is definitely not mine
ReplyDeleteI can give you the names of several Royal Ladies whose feeling for fashion is definitely not mine.
DeleteP. Laurentien has a very unique style which often baffles me. Here it’s the accessories (earrings and necklace) which seem completely at odds with each other. I do like the colour and shape of the dress although 3/4 sleeves might have looked more flattering. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts as well
DeleteHer chunky, original style is her trademark, but those powerful arms certainly need covering. I like the purple of her dress.

Oh Virginia I love your description of her arms, well stated,
DeleteShe doesn't have to cover her arms. In these pictures they are extremely developed which looks not normal to me. In picture N°3 she pushes her right arm against her body not to loose her envelope handbag. In picture N°2 the same arm looks much thinner. In picture N°4 her left arm is resting on the table and there are parts of sunshine shining inside the room, which give strange effects on her left arm. In all the other pictures her arms look normal to me. Purple in all its variations is a fashion color in 2025. Her dress is a normal shirt dress, a very simple style for Princess Laurentien. Her artistic jewelry is something she won't let go easily. She always loved big earrings and necklaces. If she feels fine like this, she must wear her modern jewelry just like other royal ladies are wearing their old fashion brooches and pearls.
DeleteOh Virginia, no, it’s so unfair to say that another woman needs to cover her own beautiful features. No man would be shamed into covering his powerful arms and nor should a woman. Especially as we get older, we should accept and support each other, girls!
DeleteOh it is just Princess Laurentien. Yesterday I was almost killed for writing about an observation that the princes of Monaco looked pale. But for Princess Laurentien everybody can say what they want.
DeleteLove seeing Laurentian! While her tastes and mine quite different I always enjoy seeing her--she seems to have such a warm and friendly personality. The purple dress is lovely and the color is wonderful on her. Her jewelry is always unique and today is no exception. Not a fan of the necklace but the earrings are OK and the bracelet is interesting. I would recommend she wear longer sleeves as, from these photos, I think they would be more flattering.

DeleteAre you doing it on purpose. Each time there is an item on Princess Laurentien you call her Laurentian. That you cannot pronounce a Dutch proper name I can understand, but that each time you cannot simply copy it correctly, I cannot understand.
I'm not entirely sure if this style of dress was meant for a physique like this.

No wonder the world is in trouble. Isn't it Anon 9:13 or does your comment is only valid for royals of your choice ?
DeleteAnd what about your own physique ?
I like the color of the dress for her, but the costume jewelry is not elegant at all. Just too theatrical looking, imo. Would have preferred a simple court pump with this dress also.
ReplyDeleteNice dress and color. Not a fan of the jewelry.

Where is her husband?
ReplyDeleteHe is doing his job at the European Community.
DeleteNice dress, maybe not on PL. I would have liked it more with a 3/4 sleeve. And not with this jewelry; the combination of this type of dress with that kind of necklace looks off, in my opinion. I understand she has another style and I appreciate that, but her styling hardly ever works.
