The Duchess of Edinburgh wore a white floral silk tea dress by Suzannah London, paired with a veiled hat by Jane Taylor. Zara Tindall opted for a monochrome collared dress by Laura Green and a boater-style hat by Juliette Botterill. Princess Beatrice wore a yellow dress with floral detailing by Monique Lhuillier, while Harriet Sperling chose a lemon belted midi dress from Beulah London.

Zara was the clear standout for me. A perfect mix of white and black trim and accessories. She really does go all in for Ascot. Stunning.
Camilla dress seemed a little casual, even with the adornment of the brooch.
Sophie’s dress was meant to be worn full length looking at model. So that’s a win for her.
I loved the yellow that Harriet wore, with nude accessories. Very pretty.
Beatrice looked lovely. She seems to favour this style of dress, and it suits her.
Anne delved deep into her closet for another throw back ensemble. I do smile when you see how much our royal ladies pay for their various ensembles on each of the days, then Anne comes along and wears something she’s probably had in her closet since the 80’s.
    Lowri.

    1. I agree Zara was the best IMHO. I prefer the understated elegance of her outfit and black & white is always a striking combination. As for Anne, I think she is very frugal and practical like her mother was. Some wealthy, famous people only wear their outfits once and wouldn't be caught dead in a re-wear. How sad.

Agreed! Beatrice is the fashion win for me today. Although I like the elegant black/white ensemble that Zara wore.

The queen in her signature outfit, nice colour for her. Bea I like the colours individually but find the contrast and pattern to bold for her petite size. I like P.Anne’s dress looks comfortable great colour, just a fun dress to wear, if the veil were removed I would have liked her hat too. Sophie lovely print and colour, alittle shorter would bring it into proportion. Zara well balanced dress and hat.

Sophie looks to me like she is wearing her grandmother's dress. Her last few dresses have missed the mark with me

She must be seeing something so many of us don't. The (made-to-be-worn) long dress would have a more dramatic impact if she did not wear every dress she owns down to her ankles. Now it looks like more of the same except that the skirt of this dress is cut better for this length. I would love to know what she is thinking with her choices.

I think she loves her dresses long. It’s that simple. Right now the maxi dress is still in, as are florals, and she’s loving it. In this case the dress is full length silk which feels marvellous to wear. I love that she’s found a smile she enjoys, a sort of uniform, which must make dressing to be in the public eye so often easier. Good on ya Sophie.

Beautiful dresses again today, especially the yellow and blue on Eugenie. MR

  9. Zara Tindall the clear winner here. She looks elegant, classy, just great. I think Duchess Sophie’s dress is meant to be a maxi this time so it looks okay. I don’t really like Princess Beatrice’s outfit but I don’t know why. Princess Anne’s outfit is very much her style. Sadly, after two days of lovely dresses, Queen Camilla’s outfit here is a real disappointment—-it doesn’t fit well and the lack of colour washes her out.

I must say all of the RL look fantastic. Like Beatrice dress a lot. Edo again best dressed. He looks like he stepped out of a magazine.

All of the men look well tailored, not just Ed. Bea's dress is far too heavy of a material, with long sleeves, and crinkles easily. Not a win in my opinion.

They all wear their dresses longer than on the model, or they are shorter than the model. It is all about proportions. As long as this is not respected, they will never look elegant.
Duchess Sophie seems to be a fan of dresses by Suzannah. These dresses do not suit her and they are like all her clothes much too long and some are sized too large . It is unbelievable that she doesn't see it herself.

Most people are shorter than models. They all look very elegant, even if hemlines are naturally in different heights from the designers’ models. I’m sure Sophie does see herself and likes what she sees or she’d change. The fact that she doesn’t change means she’s enjoying her choices.

Maybe Sophie prefers the longer dress so she doesn’t need to wear stockings.

Most people are indeed shorter than models, but they adapt the length to their height. Is it so difficult to find somebody who can do this for them ?

Sophie does wear stockings and sometimes they are very visible, because she doesn't always buy a quality that is very transparant.

Camilla is seriously underdressed. Except for the hat and brooch she is dressed for doing the dishes.

I see instead a bespoke dress in a stunning summer blue with classy and pricey accessories, and for me that’s not at all underdressed.

Agree, the dress is ill fitted, the material crumples, it looks very sad compared to the splendid Dior coat on the first day of Ascot !!

    4. Anonymous20/6/25 19:06

If this dress is a bespoke one, I think the dressmaker did a bad job. A child can see that the dress doesn't fit. Except of the jewelry the accessories are not extra ordinary. The bag is one she has in other colors too and the shoes look fine but not new. The hat has the same shape as almost all her other hats. The so called expensive accessories are not looking better than those worn by the other attendants.

If someone does the dishes here, then it is dear Sophie, with Beatrice helping her before she leaves to go to a tea dance where she wants a lot of attention by means of combining huge patterns in conflict with a loud colour, shouting to be noticed. OK, but I love her ponytail. Camilla's dress has quite a refined cut, a beautiful colour and I am sure: a wonderful fabric, just compare the wrinkles/creasings on Beatrice's dress with no creasing on Camilla's. Zara wins this day for me and I don't mind if the Princess Royal's dress is old or new, she looks excellent in it and the colour is good for her.

Paloma.

Zara, is a stand out in her outfit. Anne, lovely as ever. Her repeat wearing of clothing is wonderful to see how clothes can be re-worn, decades later, with a few changes, and it fits in easily with the year she chooses to re-wear the garment. Sophie, the fabric is beautiful, as is the longer tea-length style. The only thing negative I can spot is from the waist up, the bodice looks droopy, the sleeves are good. Beatrice, the fabric and long sleeves are too heavy for such a warm summer day. Not a fan of the print, or the fabric. Looks like something her mom would wear, not a younger aged woman. Camilla, much to plain looking with a droopy appearance. The hat and broach are both lovely.
