Today, on May 17, Norway is celebrating Constitution Day 2025. The Royal Family of Norway was present on the balcony of the Royal Palace in Oslo as the children’s parade reached Palace Square. King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, accompanied by Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, and Prince Sverre Magnus, greeted the children’s parade. This year, 26,000 children from 109 schools took part in the parade.
The Staff Band of the Armed Forces had the honour of leading the parade. They were followed by the 17th of May Committee, who led the singing of the Royal Anthem and the Norwegian National Anthem before the children entered Palace Square.
According to tradition, schools celebrating jubilees are given the honour of marching at the front of the parade in Oslo. This year, three elementary schools are celebrating their 125th anniversary: Bryn entered Palace Square first, followed by Grorud and Lakkegata. Hartvig Nissen was the last school to pass before the Palace Balcony, after which His Majesty’s Royal Guard concluded the parade.
The norwegian bunad is wonderful, so many and all wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSuperbe la photo montrant la famille royale norvégienne au balcon du palais d'Oslo ; c'est un vrai plaisir - J'aime beaucoup le chapeau de la reine reprenant les couleurs du drapeau norvégien !
ReplyDeleteThey all look wonderful. I love MM's hat.

I watched the parade for almost 90 minutes. It was a huge gathering and young students were doing parade so nicely.
ReplyDeleteStudents doing parade were highly disciplined as also spectators. Young students were playing very tough musical instruments so nicely & was very much enjoyable.
God bless them.
🙏🙏🙏
I like the National dresses, great look for everyone. I must say Sverre is really a big guy, he is taller than his father. IA looks so lovely she is a beautiful young woman
ReplyDeletecss.
Yes, maybe the height is from his grandfather.

DeleteOui, je pense comme vous mais également de son arrière grand-père !
Yes Sverre is a big guy for sure. Nice looking family in national dress, nice to see them move about the balcony, no protocol of a designated spot they must stay in. Very much a close family.
DeleteThe parade looked brilliant. What a great day. The national dresses are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Ava!!
DeleteP. the original. Hope you’re doing well. Great to see you posting and reading your comments. Take good care.
DeleteDearest Ava,
Deletesorry for not replying sooner, I'm reading It just now.
I'm so happy you responded to me!
And you are always so exquisitely kind to me, thank you!
I hope you are doing well.
I am fine.
Do you remember?
I promised you that I would pop in any time and here I am.
Time is cruel , it just slips off my hands.
I wish I could post more comments.
I always read yours, they are so welcome to me, you know.
Yes, I' ll take good care, thank you.
May I tell you a...secret?
Sorry for being a bit too sincere.
Your kind words sound so caring to me, they remind me of those loving and caring warnings my parents and mum in particular used to say.
I miss those words dreadfully.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
And...I think you probably noticed I'm very fond of literature and poetry.
As much as I can travel, being a globetrotter is just a part of my nature, the other half being devoted to poetry.
It's my comfort and books are so essential to me.
I love reading in my spare time..and being a fashionista, too!
What an odd combo, isn't it?
Hugs for you👍👋
@ Ava
DeleteI just want to share with you and all the readers one of my favourite poems of all time .

The original poem "Ballade des äußeren Lebens" was written by the German author Hugo von Hofmannsthal.
DeleteP. the original. Thank you for your reply, aw your most welcome, I know what that is like. Its been a long time since I have words as you describe from loved ones. The original poem, marvellous, I was able to open its beautiful. Strong and meaningful. I have saved it. I love reading books as well, its a form of escapism for me, once you are into a good book, any troubles are put aside for a time, well I find that anyway. I take a book with me everywhere!. I can never have enough books. Take good care of yourself and talk soon. Keep posting, love to read your comments!
Delete@ Ava,

Yes, it's truly strong and meaningful.
I'm also very fond of classical and modern music.

I'm an avid listener of modern music as well , especially 80s- 90s hits.
And, can I tell you another secret?
I love dancing , which I also practise as a form of working out in my spare time.
I particularly like dancing tango and I also took lessons when I was still a university student.
I love dancing tò pop music hits too.
Unfortunately, I can't t devote much time to my hobbies as I am so busy.
Hugs for you👋👍
P. the original Oh that is so interesting. Your taste in music, lovely. I prefer 80’s and 90’s with specific bands mostly. As for dancing when we lived remotely I used to learn/ do New Vogue dancing just adored it. Dressing in ball gowns for major nights so much fun! LOL!!!
