King Charles III and Queen Camilla are undertaking a two-day royal visit to Canada. This historic trip marks the King's first visit to Canada as Sovereign. On May 27, King Charles, in his role as Head of State, attended the State Opening of the Parliament of Canada in Ottawa, accompanied by Queen Camilla. During the ceremony, the King delivered the Speech from the Throne in the Senate Chamber.
Before concluding their visit, King Charles and Queen Camilla laid a wreath and flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. Later, Their Majesties departed from Macdonald-Cartier International Airport to return to the UK.
On the second day of the visit, Queen Camilla wore a navy dress by Fiona Clare and a matching hat by Philip Treacy. In a subtle tribute to the nation, she also wore her Canadian Rifles brooch. The Queen is Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment, and her equerry in Canada is a member of the same unit.
The dark blue dress with the beautifull pearls is very becoming, and as always a great hat makes her really “ the queen”. I think it was a very moving visit.

حذفLove the hat and dress combo on Q.C. She suits royal blue very well. I’m less impressed with the brooch. It’s a striking piece but I prefer seeing it worn to military events. Here I would have chosen something more decorative. (V.M.)
