On February 27, 2025, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, along with King Carl Gustaf of Sweden, attended the first competition day of the 2025 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim.
All competitions during the championship are taking place in Granåsen, a state-of-the-art venue for Nordic disciplines. This is the second time that Trondheim is hosting the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, the first being in 1997.
