The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are visiting Nepal from February 4 to 9. On the third day of their official royal tour of the Himalayan nation, the Duke and Duchess visited the Godawari National Botanic Garden in Kathmandu. They then visited the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) Living Mountain Lab in Kathmandu. Afterwards, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh traveled to Pokhara, where they visited the Veterans' Residential Home at the Gurkha Welfare Trust Centre.

Love the skirt, the shoes even though I like them they just seem a bit odd with this outfit.
ردحذفThe shoes aren’t perfect with the outfit but Nepal is dry and dusty and rough so chunky shoes are sensible. She may have alternatively paired the skirt with white runners successfully (although in my experience they’d not stay white!).

ردحذفThe skirt would be better with a very simple top. The jacket itself is excellent, but not with this skirt. Both pieces are really good on earlier occasions, s. the pics Helen additionally provided, but not together. And the shoes ... simple ballerinas could do the job.
ردحذفI don't care for the jacket with this outfit either. I think it looks just like it is--a random blazer thrown over a dress to give the illusion of a more formal look. Sophie does this a lot. I can appreciate that she is wearing separates, but she struggles to pull together cohesive outfits. Additionally, if she didn't wear all her dresses and skirts too long, it would be easy to tell if if she was wearing a long dress this time to be respectful of the Nepali customs.

Lose the jacket, switch the white blouse for the matching floral one (as shown on the model), and shorten the hem to above the ankle or mid-calf. Sophie is short in stature and I think a lot of her hemlines are too long. The skirt is very pretty and light, perfect for the climate conditions. On a scale of 1-10 I give this look a 6.
ردحذفThe skirt and top are probably okay. The jacket doesn’t improve the outfit. The shoes are even worse than yesterday’s. They look like orthopaedic shoes. Accept that flat shoes are necessary here but they needn’t be quite so ugly

It just keeps getting worse. A nice pair of white canvas sneakers would have looked better or white ballerina flats. Much shorter skirt would have avoided some of this matronly look. The Zimmerman model should have been followed. Loose the floppy bouse and blazer and switch out the shoes.
ردحذفThe clothes are good but those espadrilles--and all the others she owns--need to be tossed in the trash. They are never a good look on Sophie. Its awful to say but I going to say it--they make her feet look like big blocks. The skirt is very pretty and I am thinking the Chloe jacket was added for either modesty or warmth--maybe both. I wish she chosen a soft pink cardigan rather than the structured jacket as I think there is a clash between the skirt and jacket. The scarves and flowers are beautiful. Edward looks very handsome in this less formal blazer and trousers. Together, the Edinburghs are a good looking couple.

Espadrilles are not bad shoes. They have been around for centuries. They are a staple of Spanish culture, for example, and will always be worn. I have seen times when Sophie has worn espadrilles and they looked good with what she was wearing. It is not the shoe, it is how they are worn. I like the suggestion above that she could have worn white sneakers with this outfit as well. Sophie doesn't have the knack of successfully mixing pieces of her wardrobe.
حذفI understand her wearing these type of shoes, as mentioned above. I love her outfit. She looks feminine. The skirt and jacket are beautiful, the blouse is perfect. this has been a great visit.
