Shortly after the New Year and before returning to Greece, Queen Anne-Marie and her family spent a few days at the Corviglia ski resort in St. Moritz, along with Crown Prince Pavlos, Princess Marie-Chantal, Prince Philippos, and Princess Nina Flohr. In 2020, Prince Philippos married Nina Flohr in a civil wedding ceremony at this very resort in St. Moritz.

I don't see any queen. Greece isn't a monarchy.
ردحذفOnce a Queen, Queen for life!!!
حذفWell, former queen! Still a Princess (of Denmark) and widely accorded the honorary title Queen, although not recognised as such in Greece, which as you say has no monarchy. I find all that more interesting than these three ladies being interrupted on their private holiday for a press photo!
حذفShe was queen consort from 1964-73 before monarchy was abolished. It is part of Greek history. A lovely lady, nice to see her active with her family.
حذفHow about former Queen then?
حذفIt's Helen's blog and her editorial decision. If people get confused, they can check Wikipedia or other resources. Some of the family just won their citizenship back. Let them enjoy 15 minutes of media attention. Chris L
حذفWell, she was a queen. Why dispute her title? Only people full of envy do this. Those people usually adore former actress M. Markle - and call her duchess - a title she acquired through marriage.

حذف@Anon 21:24 You are so right.
Excellent point well made. Rem
ردحذفThe House of Glücksburg still exist even though a referendum chose to not have a royal house in Greece. This occurred in 1974. Therefore they retain their titles, of queen, prince, princess , as in King Constantine.
ردحذفLovely they were able to be together as a family.
ردحذفGood idea, Ava, to move on to another topic... Yes nice for them.
حذفJe sais bien qu'Anne Marie a conservé son titre pour la vie !
ردحذفThe former queen looks like a very lovely person and always dresses very elegant. Maybe if the Greek Royal family had been ‘real’ Greeks, and not from a Danish family, the Greek people would have kept the monarchy. I might be wrong but people need such connection, I think.
ردحذفI don't think so. King Konstantinos was Greek, but he was very young and inexperienced - and there was a military coup (to my knowkedge) and he was overthrown.
حذفNice to see them in the Mountains of St Moritz. Wish I could be there.
