On January 22, 2025, King Frederik and Queen Mary attended the premiere of 'Jeppe on the Hill' at the Old Stage of the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. 'Jeppe on the Hill' (Jeppe på bjerget) is a classic Danish-Norwegian comedy by the Norwegian playwright Ludvig Holberg, written in the early 18th century during the Dano-Norwegian dual monarchy. The Royal Danish Theatre is the national Danish performing arts institution.

We need to remember that (a) being in front of hundreds of cameras is tiring and hard work (ask any bride if her smile is really natural by the end of the wedding photos!) and (b) the pictures are just an instant in time, and don’t necessarily reflect the person on the day.
