On November 18, 2024, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Feel Good Inside and Out Project at Cranford College in Hounslow, England. The Duchess of Edinburgh, Global Ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, also visited the Fight for Sight Laboratory at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. The Duchess of Edinburgh wore a Loewe leather dress paired with a floral blouse by Me+Em.

Well here's a surprise - Sophie has 'wow-ed' me with this outfit. The cut and the fit of it looks amazing on her , highlights her amazing figure, and the length (usually a sore point) is actually appropriate this time. She could in future wear all kinds of blouses with this - modern, contemporary, avant garde, etc. but the country floral one she has on also works well with this leather dress. All-in-all: very nice.

She looks fabulous! What a beautiful outfit that looks great on her! MR
DeleteQuite good combination!
ReplyDeleteIt is a kind of oldfashioned blouse getting a modern touch by the leather pinafore.
Beautiful dress 👌
ReplyDeleteAgree, vielleicht etwas zu eng, was zu einem Presswurst-Effekt führt, zu sehen auf den ersten Fotos. e.
DeleteBoth pieces by itself are nice I would say, but not combined, Sorry

Wow, the frills and the leather-dress looks great! Maja
ReplyDeleteThis leather dress is not something that appeals to me, but Sophie wears it well. The blouse underneath, I'm just not sure. The dress as it is on the model looks great. She is doing such marvellous work, I have much admiration and respect for the Duchess, well done Ma'am, well done.
ReplyDeleteI agree, perhaps a different blouse, but as it a no for me
DeleteI fully agree with Ava. MaryT
DeleteJ adore sa robe en cuir

Very nice dress, but I would prefer one size bigger. She looks fresh and young and the blouse makes is over all softer and feminine.
ReplyDeleteHard working and always with a smile. Lovely dress 💗
ReplyDeleteOne word Sophie WOW
ReplyDeleteThis is such an improvement.I love the frilly feminine blouce under the dress.
ReplyDeleteThis ensemble highlights Sophie’s gorgeous figure
My only nick pick,is I would have preferred a black boot instead of the tan, only to give the look a continuous look. But other than that, she looks beautiful!
Lowri.
Looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteremove the blouse and get black heels you get a much better look
ReplyDeleteI agree. I do not like the blouse, or any blouse, under that dress. She tired to turn a sheath into a jumper, like the one Camilla has.
DeleteThe idea behind this outfit is not bad, but the length of the leather dress is better on the model. It is also a bit too tight (perhaps because of the blouse she is wearing underneath). The brown boots are not a good match with the rest of the outfit. Maybe she should try to wear it with simple black heels and transparent tights. Have the dress made shorter and try another blouse to see the difference. I like her with her hair loose. So much better and younger than the boring updo's she uses to wear. I like her handbag, must be one of her better ones.
ReplyDeleteStunning. I love how she’s softened the austerity of so much black leather by a sweet blouse and excellently coloured boots. Just lovely Sophie! - Grace
ReplyDeleteYou realize, per royal protocol, her dresses must be below the knee.
ReplyDeleteWhich protocol? And, if you like, look at the early pictures of pr. Kate …
DeleteThat is not a thing.
DeleteMaybe British protocol, not in other countries. Besides below the knee is not the same as on the ankles.
DeleteThere's no such protocol. Where did you get that from? Even the late Queen wore (modest) mini dresses back in the 60s! And the young royals nowadays frequently have skirts above the knee. Honestly, I think people use the word 'protocol' to basically mean 'someone is wearing something I don't approve of'.
DeleteThank goodness Princess Diana broke Royal protocol with those beautiful legs although she did start wearing shorter dresses at the end of her marriage!
DeleteI commend her for her daring choice. The leather dress is cool and stylish, and different from her usual. That being said, I don´t think it fits her well (too tight, too long), and she couldn´t have combined it any worse. The thin frilly blouse is a total clash in every way, and the brown suede boots match neither blouse nor dress. My suggestion: go a size bigger and shorten the dress to just under knee length. Then combine with a snug-fitting turtleneck in one solid colour, then choose leather boots (not suede) in black or the same colour as the turtleneck. If the turtleneck is black as well, the boot should be in a contrasting colour with a matching purse.
ReplyDeleteDésolée, je n'arrive pas à trouver de l'élégance à cette robe portée sur ce chemisier imprimé qui ne l'avantage pas du tout !

ReplyDeleteBig NO for me, in particular with these boots and of this size! Zofia
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to see the DoE pull out some of her leather pieces and animal prints. She knows how to mix the sweet and the bold pieces of her wardrobe. And when she adds her flutter lashes ... such fun. Great to see her her like this
