  1. I like the jacket and the earrings but I'm unsure about the scarf. I also don't like the buttoning just at the top. The color flatters her.

    1. It's not a scarf. It's a bow-necked blouse. DIQ

We wish she had. Silvia has lots of stylish outfits and most would have been better choices than this one Victoria is wearing.

  5. Cute jacket. I like the placement of the upper pockets. In some photos the bow is placed high enough to look okay, lower not so much. Lovely colour on her

  8. Love this outfit on Victoria--she always looks good in blues. What I wish she had done was leave the pussy bow blouse at home. The jacket would look much better as would her whole outfit had she chosen a turtleneck to wear underneath.

  11. This is the classic Chanel look and the bow blouse is traditional, as can be seen in photos of Coco Chanel wearing her creations

  12. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden always looks nice with her bows and blues! We could all do without the animal skins though. I wish she, Daniel and her team would mosey on over here to Maryland USA to save me and Kristine. We could really use their support. Happy Cruelty Free American Thanksgiving everyone!

  13. Great outfit other than that pussybow. The suit is a great colour for P. Victoria.

  14. CP Victoria is the OG of the business pant suit. She was wearing them well before the other royal ladies started to make them a staple item of clothing in their closets.
The blue suit is perfect on her.Blue is a good color. She looks well put together, and business like.

  16. Love CP Victoria in her Chanel look-a-like jacket. The pussy bow is part of the original Coco Chanel outfit. I don't understand why so many people are against it.

    1. I am one of those with a distinct dislike of pussy bows. Here is why:

In this particular outfit, the bow is simply too much. The jacket already has some strong features (contrasting edges, pockets, statement buttons, checkered pattern, special texture etc). The bow is in the way and competing with those features. A basic turtleneck or t-shirt neckline underneath would have been heaps better. And the brooch can go too, although I suspect she´s wearing it because it has significance for the event.
I´m not a fan of bow blouses in general. They just look so dated, so 70s, early 80s. And the ladies who do wear bow-blouses today are often those who already did then, and that means that they are often in their 70s now. So, to me, bow blouses are something I associate with older ladies. Victoria usually dresses too old in my opinion anyway, and her ever-present tight hair bun doesn´t help. She often ends up looking like an old librarian.

Bowblouses can be ok-ish if styled right. That, in my view, requires a very simple outfit with no stand-out features. The bow needs to be tied loosely - this is important - because otherwise, a tight or even sturdy bow can look clownish. I think therefore someone above wrote she looked ridiculous, although it´s of course way too harsh of a comment.

Anyway, I cannot think of any circumstance where a featured bow blouse looked better than a normal blouse would have, so if you ask me, they can simply disappear altogether. It´s a retro thing overdone.

    4. @ Vanessa
"70s, early 80s" ? Coco Chanel wore them herself much earlier. Together with her famous chain necklaces and a big brooch, much bigger than the one CP Victoria is wearing.
When Princess Alexandra is wearing an old jacket and skirt in an ugly brown that belonged to Princess Grace, everybody loved it. Then I prefer the Chanel look-a-like CP Victoria is wearing. There is no need to comment her hair here, we talked about the bow in the first place.
There are other Princesses whose hear is much worser than CP Victoria's.
You know what I wish to dissappear, the too long dresses or coats some of the royal ladies are wearing which is also a retro thing overdone.

  19. Dear Vanessa, If I understand you correctly bow blouses are usually worn by old ladies and Princess Victoria looks like an old librarian with her bun although most of us know that she has specific problems with her hair (this is more or less official) and must look impeccable in public. Even those who follow the fashion guidelines of Coco Chanel risk looking clownish, are only up-to-date with turtle neck pullovers etc. etc. What more insults must we Chanel fans and Princess endure from you? Incredible.

    1. My goodness, Virginia, what are you on about??
I stated my opinion, without insulting anyone. Why can´t you just participate in the discussion without getting triggered? If you feel you have to question or contest my statements, please at least put forward some useful argument.
I don´t know what fashion guidelines you´re talking about. Coco Chanel is a fashion house, not a law maker. You are free to follow their ideas, and I´m free not to care about them.
Regarding Victoria´s hair: she has slightly frizzy hair, but that´s a) off-topic, b) not a "specific problem with her hair", c) can be addressed with normal hair products, and d) therefore doesn´t stop her from looking well-kempt (or "impeccable" for you) even if she choses to wear her hair down. We know that because she DID wear her hair down a lot more in her youth and it looked great. Victoria´s go-to hairstyle was actually a ponytail for years, and I think it looked much better on her than the bun. So, the bun is not the only way to keep difficult hair under control, nor is difficult hair the only reason why she chooses the bun. She has repeatedly stated that she lacks interest in fashion and styling and therefore accepts help from both her sister and a stylist.
(PS. Stuff that "most of us know" and that is "more or less official" often really comes down to gossip.)

  20. Dear Vanessa, I read in a good Swedish source (no gossip, mind you) why Princess Victoria does not wear her hair open, the reasons sound very plausible to me. She is the future queen and has a specific profile she wishes to follow, her unruly hair is a daily problem. What she did in her youth is obviously no longer her path. Her approach seems very professional to me and has nothing to do with an old librarian.
