King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark arrived in Gråsten for the 2024 summer holiday. The King and Queen were welcomed by the public as they arrived in Gråsten before walking through the town to their summer residence at Gråsten Castle. In 1935, Gråsten Palace (Gråsten Slot) was handed over to be the summer residence for King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid, and the tradition of using it during the summer has continued since then.
ME+EM Shadow Berry Print Maxi Dress
Love the dress not the hat.
ReplyDeleteIt's an Australian Akubra for women don't show your ignorance
Delete@Anonymous 14:18
DeleteWhy accuse this person of ignorance? The hat might not be to everyone's personal taste, and that's ok no? I read no ignorance in that comment, only a personal preference.
The dress is good, but the hat is very bad!
DeleteIt is about personal taste. I find just the opposite of anon 5:28. I don't particularly care for these midi floral dresses at all, but I really like the hat. I don't get the fussy fake flowers and feathers stuck all over hats, dyed in colors that are not found in nature. I much prefer simplicity. And good for Mary for keeping some of her own heritage!
DeleteThe hat is most likely from the australian brand Canopy Bay. It offers UPF50+ more, a very sensible choice.
DeleteI doubt that you'd need UPF50+ sun protection in Sweden 😁
DeleteDear @deadeggs, Mary lives in Denmark but it's almost the same country 😆. No UPF50+ needed.
DeleteYou need UPF50 in the northern countries, during summer if you want to protect your skin. Grasten is located in Denmark.
Deletedeadeggs. I believe Grasten Castle is still in Denmark . Obviously, Queen Mary knows enough about the need of sun-protection to take the necessary precautions.
DeleteWhat a silly faux pas.
DeleteYes, Queen Mary lives in Denmark, not Sweden.
You know for a couple of weeks now I’ve been drinking some sort of fancy “tra-la-la” herbal tea that guarantees to lose your cellulite whilst sleeping.
As it’s shorts and swimwear time (in the northern hemisphere) I’ve decided to hit the problem head on. But the only results I’m seeing are confusion and loss of memory. And less money in my bank account.
Maybe it’s time to give up the herb tea nonsence/miracle and buy a swimsuit that’s a bit like a tent.
I think if I go back to my trusty old Indian tea bags (two or three in a mug) things should get back to normal.
@ Deadeggs
DeleteI have been reading somewhere that herbal tea when you drink it all the time can be unhealthy. I like to drink herbal tea too but the article advised that you must buy several herbal teas and not drink every day the same. Variation between black tea, green tea, fruit tea and herbal tea seems to be the best you can do.
Dear Anon 12:23;
DeleteThanks for the information but I'm "hooked" on my strong, black Indian tea. Helps me to get up and running in the mornings.
You know, I've been guilty of squeezing out the tea bags to get the last drop of caffeine.😀
Mary looks great for a summer holiday. Love the addision of the hat.
ReplyDeleteAgree. Perfect summer holiday outfit
DeleteAawwhh Mary is elegant as always 🥰
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely 😉

Lovely dress!
ReplyDeleteAs we say in Holland: truttig.
ReplyDeleteEllen
Ik ben het met je eens, truttig. Een stuk eraf en de jurk zou haar al veel beter staan.
DeleteMinder truttig dan Amalia of over the top Maxima
DeleteA naturel beauty Queen Mary|
ReplyDeleteNot much is natural about her!
DeletePretty summer dress. Not really a fan of puffed sleeves but the hat takes the edge off the sweetness.
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteSmukke!
ReplyDeleteTenue imprimée très rafraîchissante pour la période estivale que Mary a associée d'un chapeau !
ReplyDeleteFor once I like a ME+EM dress, although I prefer the sleeves of the dress as worn by the model. The ones on the QM dress are a little too short in my opinion and the white band makes them look a little tight and crooked
ReplyDelete10.15 I agree!
DeleteWell said
DeleteI don' t understand what's the difference between Mary's and the model's sleeves. They look same to me, also the band (it's not white) in Mary's sleeves has florals but not so much as the model's has. I believe that every dress has different sleeves depending on the alignment of the pattern. And the model has much slimmer arms than Mary has, Mary has muscles 💪😅.
DeleteJust drop dead gorgeous: the dress is beautiful and the hat is a nod to her Australian roots
ReplyDeleteWith all the make-up and hair ups or downs she looks not more than plain and simple in my opinion.
Her maquillage looks more like a mask than a addition, sometimes is less is more especially in the summer with a suntan.
Just some mascara and lip gloss is enough
-Anna-
Agree…too much makeup can make you look older not younger…and plastic faced.
Delete21.12 I agree!
DeleteCe chapeau lui va à ravir
ReplyDeleteThat hat is "edgy" must get one 😁
DeleteMary looks so smart and casually chic from head to toe. And so does Frederik. What a lovely couple to have as a modern day Queen and King.
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
Oh my oh my. Midi and maxi dresses with a flower motif seem to be everywhere this summer.
ReplyDeleteLight and breezy and easy to pack in suitcases for summer holidays.
I hope Queen Mary’s family and especially her dad can join her and her family for a nice bit of life in the chateau.
It’s full winter in Tasmania at the moment.
Happy holiday to the King and Queen of Denmark. 🧡🧡
Skitsnyggt!
ReplyDeleteStunning outfit. Would love for fashion to normalise summer hats again - they are so pretty but above all practical to protect the face from the sun. Mary looks stunning in hats! - Grace
ReplyDeleteThis dress does nothing for her, makes her look a boring middle age woman.
ReplyDeleteLisa
What😳? Are you talking about yourself now!
DeleteUgh oh…now you’ve upset the Mary fanatics…
DeleteLisa. As a matter of fact, she's a middle-aged woman, but far from boring. Your sense of fashion is obviously different, but you could always try to be fair.
DeleteI’ll agree. People can state their opinion I hope.
DeletePretty dress and she looks fine, middle aged or not. Don’t like the hat though.
DeleteLisa, is there something wrong about being middle-aged? Do you want us all to die young?
DeleteWow! Mary is always dressed perfectly for each occasion. She looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI see Zara Tindall has the same dress she wore to watch Wimbledon
ReplyDeleteYes, true.
DeleteIt's on other sites. Double jackpot publicity for ME+EM

The Australian Akubra hat, great seeing the Queen wearing it, fabulous! Love this dress, it looks so pretty. The pearl drop earrings are beautiful and a lovely addition with this ensemble. Photo no:2 I just love, Mary is looking directly at little one, and doesn't little one look adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say, great look, for Q Mary. css
ReplyDeletePictures on this site seem more photoshopped than on other sites.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, you think ??? I doubt that Helen has got time available to "photoshop" photos she has chosen to be on this site.
Delete@ Anonymous 09:54
DeleteMaybe not photoshopped, but what I've seen that from Queens like Mary and Letizia only the best pictures are used on this blog. From other queens like Queen Mathilde and Maxima, I always find better pictures on other sites than on this one. And believe me a picture taken from another angle can make a huge difference.
She looks so pretty in this outfit. I love the dress, she's so slim and the dress accentuates her figure and I love the hat too, very flattering. She's a knock out today!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks pretty and youthful.
ReplyDeleteVery ugly hat
