On May 23, 2024, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden received Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen is making an official visit to Sweden, at the invitation of the Speaker of the Riksdag, Andreas Norlen.
A darker shade would have been better for the Queen; it looks like the palace is cold by her wearing a shawl.

ReplyDeleteOn a silly note, I think it’s funny that the Queen is wearing a shawl and carrying a clutch for a meeting inside the palace. Maybe she was heading out after these photos were taken!
I think she doesn't need the shawl outside as it has been above +25C all week!

DeleteYou forget it takes long before those castles or palaces are warm enough, even if outside it is more than 25°C. In my house it is sometimes colder than outside, especially now that Spring is still not warm enough in Western Europe. It has been warmer in Scandinavia lately than in Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris. I hope they send a bit of their temperature to us in the weeks to come.
She doesn't live there you know. It's where her office is, so I guess she'll need a little bag for her lipstick. :-)

Nice outfit. I wish she would let a few gray hairs grow. Noone with the age of 80 has their color when young. I think it would look great on her. The Austrian President went to Sweden by himself. css
ReplyDeleteQueens Mum had totally black hair all her life and it didn’t look like she had it colored. Also my Mum was born with jet black hair and didn’t get one grey straw all her life - so it can happen! C

DeleteI have seen photo's of the Queen Mum when she was very old. She had grey hair like every old person and it had become very thin.
