On May 24, 2024, the Royal Court of Norway released new official photos of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway. The photos were taken in the Great Hall of the Royal Palace in Oslo by court photographer Dusan Reljin in 2023 on the occasion of the 50th birthdays of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. (The Royal Court released the second photo on April 18, 2024).

I'll never forget her bridal dress , one of the most impressive and eye- catching gown I have ever seen.
Prince Haakon is groomed to perfection in his uniform.
He's a really handsome man.
What an amazing couple they make!
She's is wearing the pale blue dress she wore at prince Christian's 18 year birthday celebration. Both dresses are by Peter Dundas.

Great pictures of them together and him alone. The red dress is gorgeous. Love those balloon sleeves. I don´t like the white dress. I don't understand the point of the shoulder band. It distracts from the jewellery and the riband. I would have liked to see the larger tiara with the red dress.

ReplyDeleteNO! How many times do the King has to say he will NOT abdicate before people get it. It's not a tradition in the Scandinavian royal houses, and never will be. Just becuse Margrethe did it once people think they are turning into the Benelux . These photos was taken last year for their 50 year celebration. Why they did put them out then nobody knows. A royal court takes new official photos regularly. Has nothing to do with abdication. Can't we please stop this nonsense.

ReplyDeleteM-M looks gorgeous in the red ball gown! It's a beautiful style for her and the color is perfect for her.. I would have loved to see her in this gown for the recent state visit. I like the other gown but that piece across the upper bodice/shoulders just ruins the whole look of the gown. As for Haakon--he looks pretty gorgeous in his uniform too!

ReplyDeleteThe pictures with MM in the red dress has been released already in April. I just found them on this blog. Beautiful pictures, as well as the new ones.
ReplyDeleteOnly one of the portraits with the red gown (the full portrait one) was released in April, and it was only featured in the yearly report for 2023 - they never published the photo on social media or even made any headlines about it on their website.
