How weird Angie. We see the Scandinavian Queen and Crown princesses all wearing dresses. Does this mean it's summer in the north, but not in the south 😉

Yes it is weird this year with the weather. But the geologists has predicted this already 4 or 5 years ago. It is one of the signs, together with more storms, earthquakes, eruption of volcano's, etc... that planet earth is warming up. I have little white border flowers in my garden which usually come out in Spring, this year the borders had already flowers between Christmas and New Year.

Anon 09.07, it’s definitely summer in the north as we last week had about 28-29 degrees in some parts..while flying to Paris during the weekend where it was only 11 inte the morning and not more than 18-19 inte the afternoon..

I just checked temperature in Madrid this day was up to 30°C, Angie. That's summer for me 😉

10:59 if we complain about 18-19°C, we are spoiled rotten. That would be a great day for some of us ;)

If it is 18°C I would wear a dress, and have the last week. Happy summer ☀️

Whoa Letizia wearing Shapen barefoot sandals. This is such an interesting fashion diversion, and I’m so hoping that she - as style icon - helps begin to swing ladies’ shoe fashion out of the pointy damaging era into healthy. It looks very different to begin with, but it’s only fashion that has kept our toes so squeezed. Here’s to Letizia’s healing and continued cool flat shoes! - Grace

  3. She looks lovely in this pantsuit, but it looks a little boxy the jacket. The King looks beautifully attired as always. The Prime Minister looks well groomed and attired , a very handsome man.

This evolution of Letizia is regrettable. Injury notwithstanding these shapeless boxy suits in saturated colors are just not her style.

Anon 13:55..she could be at home doing nothing, however she is working.. nobody cares about her clothes..at least in Spain..her country.

Someone should tell Letizia that there is nothing wrong with wearing flat shoes with a dress or skirt.

Disagree. It’s a very difficult combination to pull off and generally looks frumpy. Sandals perhaps or even sneakers but she is as well sticking with the suits till the bone inherited foot heals

Actually in Spain people prefer this kind of Letizia, women do not wear too much skirts or dresses to work.

It depends soon the dress you are wearing. Queen Leticia is a Gascony icon, she always wears classy, modern style outfits, appropriate for all occasions.

Anon 09.23, I agree she looks elegant in the two-piece pinstripe navy suit, with an oversized blazer and wide legged trousers. The black flat pumps look both stylish and practical.

  5. Même si les épaules de son blazer sont carrées, je trouve que cela étoffe un peu sa silhouette ; le roi et le Premier ministre sont très beaux !

    1. I’d prefer to see a lighter ‘business type’ of jacket or blouse rather than what appears to be a heavy (baggy?) double breasted one.
Agree with Achard62's comments about the Prime Minister and the King but zoot, they’re both married 😁

    2. Could the heavy-ish tall man standing behind the Prime Minister be his bodyguard? I think, unfortunately, Mr. Zelenskyy needs 24 hour protection.

    4. So what you're saying dear Achard62 (tulipe) is that they are nice eye candy.
And of course, we don't want to get ourselves caught up in a crowded marriage.😀

Today Mr Zelensky is in Belgium. He will be received by King Philippe, the prime minister and the minister of defense. We will not see Queen Mathilde but we will see her several times this week at the finals of the Music contest Reine Elisabeth for violin.

  7. I know of course that Mr. Zelensky has not worn anything else than his olive-green attire (or other military themed clothes) ever since his country has to fight against Russia. I think it is commendable on many levels. However, I do also think that changing into a suit or some smart trousers, a shirt, and a jackett, would be nice to visit European Heads of State.

Do you really think he has nothing else to think about than how he looks ? I think his pant suits must be kept somewhere safe, because he doesn't need them right now. I suppose he has enough on his mind and his clothes are probably the last of his worries.

      Delete
    2. Well, one would think he has to pack at least a bag or small trolley for such visits anyway, so whether he throws some smart casual attire or the military themed clothes he holds so dear in it should not make a huge difference.

I like this suit for Queen Letizia except for the boxy look of the jacket. She always looks very good in this business style. I am also happy to see she has been able to move from a sneaker to a regular shoe. One thing I do know is that a Morton's neuroma is horribly painful and any shoe causes terrible pain. If she has had a surgical repair this transition is a very good sign about healing.

Mr. Zelensky knows exactly why he is wearing his „uniform“ and he deserves respect. Queen Letizia‘s sombre look is pure protocol and reflects Mr. Zelensky‘s outfit and determined approach. In my opinion there is nothing to criticise.

I agree with you Virginia. His people would not appreciate if he appeared in an elegant suit in public when at the same time their houses are bombed and family is killed.
