On Thursday, April 4, Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands unveiled the bronze sculpture group entitled 'The Royal Family' in the park of Soestdijk Palace in Baarn. The group portrait was made in 1996 by sculptor Arthur Spronken and consists of the portraits of the then Queen Beatrix, Prince Claus and their three sons.
The monument has been given on long-term loan to Soestdijk Palace by Museum Beelden aan Zee in the Hague. The group portrait stood on the patio of the Hague Museum and was unveiled in 1996 by the then Queen Beatrix.
As always, Princess Beatrix is beautifully dressed. She looks thrilled to have the sculptures of her family in her garden.

حذفIt isn't her garden anymore. Paleis Soestdijk has been sold. The new owner is the lady on the 2nd and 3rd picture with the white coat hanging over her shoulders.

ردحذفStill looking good and elegant. She didn't had an easy life though. First her husband who was ill during several years and was not that old when he died. Secondly her youngest son who died in a ski accident. I've always admired her for her energy and her smile no matter how she felt.
ردحذفNice to see the former Queen again. Sensible outfit, and as usual, her 'helmet' hair (it is nice for her) is perfectly styled, wish she would pass on the knowledge of how to keep her hair in place to Maxima.

ردحذفThis wonderful lady with natural hair and an unmanipulated face looks young and fresh and proves that botox und other devices are rarely necessary, in fact usually achieve the opposite. Perfect examples are Queen Elizabeth and Queen Silvia, in both directions.
