  3. Oh my word, how tall is Victoria Federica de Marichalar y de Borbon? I mean, yes, she's wearing some heels, but still. Fashionwise the King's sisters, plus also Victoria, do look a bit drab in their outfits. Infanta Elena stands out a bit, her dress is a nice length, but I think it too ordinary for a wedding. The bridal gown is lovely with the brocade pattern in the fabric, but I'm no fan of the round and high neck.

Dark brown is a fashion color for the summer. Yesterday Princess Charlene wore a dark brown dress to present the Red Cross' first aid diplomas, today Infanta Cristina wore a dark brown ensemble of pants and a top. I like it.
@ DSC the days that people (aristocrats included) spent a lot of money on clothes and accessories to assist at a wedding are over. Everybody (unless you are very rich) has to coop with higher costs for everything : energy, water (received my bill today), renovation works to the house to save energy during winter, the price for food, etc...).

    2. Well, there were many, many other guests attending this wedding dressed in lovely dresses plus hats/fascinators, and a lot of them wore vibrant spring colours. I do not think that a higher energy bill came much into play when they considered their outfits for the wedding. Most of them looked very posh and classy. The Borbon family, however, much less so.

I love the darkbrown outfit of Infanta Cristina (? I always doubt who is who).
The hairstyle is lovely, the earrings, the accessories, etc... The bride is lovely, but I prefer a plain satin or silk dress instead of jacquard fabric.

its terrible, Spanish people don't know how to dress. even the whole congregation in the background No Effort!
its only the tall daughter, Victoria Federica who came close to trying.

Anonymous 18:23 - against which benchmark are you judging? Different countries have different norms. This is an upper class wedding so no doubt guests have plenty of money and have chosen what’s acceptable and what they individually enjoy. (Grace)

An upper class wedding ? The mayor of Madrid is elected by the people, in fact he is an adminstrator of the town of Madrid just like any other mayor of any other European town. There were guests from the upper class yes, which does not mean they have to wear their best outfits to assist at this wedding.

The bride’s dress is so pretty and the material is lovely. And how nice it is to see a bride that doesn’t have all her ‘goodies’ hanging out. (Sorry, I’m a modest person…less is more!)

The happy Couple. I wish them the best for their future together. I like the outfit Christina is wearing better then Elena's dress. Elenas daughter is very tall, her brother seems to have settled down, since living in Dubai. He seems to have a little bit of arrogance? OMO. Nice to see so many people at this wedding. css

Why would it bother you if they are happy? The lovely bride is in her late 20s, presumably of an age where she is mature enough to know her own mind.

  11. On another site the congregation are dressed for a Spring wedding, which makes the Spanish royals look really drab, no effort has been made (imo). The brides dress belonged to her grandmother, was altered for her mother and again for her. So, whilst I really do not like it I sympathise with the sentiment.

@ m, your comment about Spanish people it’s rude and of course like most ignorant comments it generalizes. In my opinion Spaniards dress rather well, their affordable brands like Zara and Mango are very trendy and sleek, also there is a bunch of mid range designers that have very good fabrics and elegant designs.
This was an afternoon wedding so people wore more casual outfits, notwithstanding the people that always dress up for weddings. I like Infanta Cristina’s outfit very much, deeply dislike Elena’s , and of course Victoria Federica is edgy although I am lukewarm about this particular dress,
