On March 26, 2024, Britain's Queen Camilla hosted a reception to mark the findings of a new research study commissioned by The Queen's Reading Room charity, at Clarence House in London. The Queen’s Reading Room commissioned their first qualitative and quantitative research, as well as neuroscientific research to determine whether there is a link between reading fiction and wellbeing.

During the Reception, Queen Camilla met with guests involved in the charity’s research project, including academics and independent neuroscientists who have led the study, as well as authors, actors and literary advocates who have contributed to The Queen’s Reading Room Podcast and Festival.

I agree! Like another commenter said, I must listen to it someday. Camilla is looking fabulous.

Queen Camilla looks fabulous! I love her outfit--its beautifully fitted, especially the jacket. What an elegant look. I have no idea about the results of findings of the study that was commissioned but I can say that I think that reading fiction is beneficial for one's wellbeing.

    Those footwear are atrocious. 🤭

Don't you have any other problems than HM footwear? As long as she feels comfortable - nothing else matters!

I would have preferred a pump with this floaty skirt, but the boots are far from ‘atrocious’. They are just another look, and it could be argued that they balance the jacket. (V.M.)

I think this commenter was referring to the pointed white boots of one of the ladies, which are quite confronting against the sombre and serene colours of the evening; or perhaps Helena Bonham Carter’s shoes which I can’t quite work out but do stand out. I don’t think this commenter would be saying the Queen’s boots are atrocious because they’re not; they fit her ensemble perfectly. (Grace)

Looks as if she’s lost a little weight. Stressful time for this family.

    1. I was going to say the same thing. Her face looks thinner. This family has gone through some very stressful times these last few years. QCamilla looks really good here. I love the jacket, the skirt and I think the boots look good too. Well done.

It is always so crowded there even if there are only a few people. To many furniture to allow normal moving.

@anon 16:01 It's not an actual room. It is the name of an organisation which you can visit online. No furniture to stub your toe.

I did not say that the room they are in is a reading room, but they are in a salon or reception room which looks narrow and I see a lot of furniture.

Anom 13:43, the fact you choose to ignore the other ladies footwear, shows you’re only focusing on the Queen. Her Majesty’s footwear is lovely; I didn’t say the Queen. Look at Helen Hoban Carter and the lady in the white boots.

Thank you Grace for seeing the obvious. Queen Camilla’s boots are lovely. I wasn’t talking about her; just the other ladies footwear. Hopefully, this clears up any misunderstanding.

I understood it immediately. Compared to them Queen Camilla's boots are elegant, although I still prefer pumps.

  13. Maybe her boots are comfortable for her, maybe she has a problem with her feet at the moment. Leave her alone, she looks gorgeous and she is doing a fabulous job for the Royal family under the circumstances.
