This time it is Princess Anne who steals the show. Lovely coat and hat.
The fabric of her coat is very fashionable. I like the way she draped her shawl and attached the brooch. The Duchess of Gloucester and the Duchess of Edinburgh both awful coats. Queen Camilla's light blue Spring coat and the black boots don't match at all. The coat has a weird design in the shoulders area. The shoulder pads has never been higher.

Anne's coat material and colours reminds me of carpeting unfortunately.

For once Princess Anne has a beautiful coat in a good shape and in a fashionable fabric, she receives remarks like "carpeting" and "curtains". Queen Mathilde also has different coats in similar fabrics. They are new or not older than a couple of years. Queen Maxima also has coats in that style, but she does not wear them very often. Apparently this trend for coats cannot be appreciated by the people on this blog. They rather prefer awful coats that are too long and have a weird shape.

I love Camilla's blue coat and beret style hat. Those colours are splendid.
I also like Sophie's flared coat with the feature buttons; the stone beige colour is also lovely.

Ah some proper British hats and coats! Camilla looks delightful, including the colour choice and the cute hat; her jewels are divine. Love the flair on Sophie’s coat, so feminine. Anne’s rich red brocade (?) coat is stunning on her. - AnneLise

Today, in my opinion, the winner in the field of fashion is Princess Anna. Sophie's coat is absolutely amazing on the top (fits great), but the coat is too bulky on the bottom. I would have preferred a slightly more narrower, more fitted shape on Sophie.
Beautiful light blue color on Camille.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester are an admirable couple, but outfit od the Duchess is too gray today. I would like to advise her not to be afraid of bold colors: red or royal blue.

PS: Happy birthday to the Duke of Edinburgh on his 60th birthday yesterday. (I don't understand why the birthdays of small children are commemorated here - for example, the granddaughter of the Swedish king -and not the birthdays of the senior members of the royal family who represent it on public.)

She is pretty? That’s interesting. I never even thought “horse face”, as the Queen mum once famously called her, could quite fit whatever description the eye of the beholder has. She certainly doesn’t fit mine. Having said that, she does qualify as best dressed by my definition.

    3. Dear Petra, yes a bit out of line but apparently the Queen Mum did say that about Camilla.
But then the Queen mum was noted as being a big snob.
Princess Diana was known to have referred to Camilla as "that other woman"
But girls (and boys) I rhink that's enough gossip for the moment.
It's been a busy week with the Duchess of Sussex and her visit to Texas.

You know, if ever you’ve been “that woman” or “the other woman” you have to carry the cross of shame on your back for life.
      Take Duchess Fergie, for example.
She had to do a walk of three times round Windsor Park each morning with a cross tied to her back before she was invited, about 30 years later, by King Charles to come in from the cold.
However, for the men, they have just been sowing their wild oats or just been “naughty boys”.
Bravo Camilla. Hold your head up high.
Quick back to fashion. Oh, hello Helen, didn’t see you there.

I like Sophie’s coat. I do not care for any of the hats - Anne’s is the best I suppose. Normally, I think the Duchess of Gloucester is the epitome of elegance, but I am puzzled these pictures look like she basically has a plant stuck on the side of her hat?? Perhaps there is some significance to it I am unaware of. Camilla’s brooch is impressive looking.

I really like that lighter blue color and the hat design on the Queen, but the dark boots don’t help the outfit. The all tan on Sophie is a little snoozy and the coat is just way too long, especially in such a heavy fabric. The knee length version on the model is much better.

I love Princess Anne’s coat. So well made, the floral motifs match up perfectly on the front. Her lipstick is all she needs for makeup which brightens her face.

  11. Queen Camilla's bright blue coat and hat are a winning combination. I love the Princess Royal's red coat (it's probably as old as the hills but still suits her well) and I like Duchess Sophie's gorgeous cream coat. Lovely though her shoes are, it might have looked better with the dark boots and accessories as worn by the model. Speaking of boots, could someone please hide the ghastly ones worn by the delightful Duchess of Gloucester?

Annie, I couldn’t agree more. Sophie’s Susannah coat dress needed to be tailored to the same hemline as the model’s. It is too long and I am not sure even boots would have saved it. Depends on the boots, I guess.

Broadly speaking, I couldn’t be any happier about hemlines raising to reasonable, flattering lengths as shown by the latest fashion shows. Not sure those lengths ever flattered anyone.

I agree completely. I also don't like the length of the Duchess of Gloucester's coat over her dress. She does look great in grey though.
Also had to laugh with Royal Watcher's comment about the plant on her hat :-)

In general everyone attending looks great, with extra points for Camilla's blue and cheerful outfit.

Camilla with a complete new colour which is very flattering together with an adorable hat. Sophie gorgeous and modern in uni colour. The "western" hat completes this ensemble. The duchess of Gloucester is wearing very puzzling clothes.

The Princess Royal is the hands down winner for me--her coat is beautiful and I love how she accessorized with her scarf, anchoring it with a gorgeous brooch. Then there's her hat--love it! Queen Camilla looks fabulous in light blue ensemble. I love the color on her and her hat is Camilla spectacular--she can really wear hats that big and/or dramatic so well. I love the spray of whatever it is across the front of her hat. But--that stunning brooch!!! I really want to know all about it. Is it aquamarines or blue topazes? I don't recall ever seeing the late Queen Elizabeth ever wear this. Sophie looks good too--while she has chosen to wear a blergh coat she looks good in it. The bodice is especially flattering. I also like her hat and the black accents add a good pop of color against her all-blergh look. I do wish she had worn a version with the same length as the model but Sophie seems to prefer her hemlines always longer. Finally the Duchess of Gloucester--I love her even though she's wearing one of her beanie hats (the urge to snip that little thing at the top of her hat is driving me crazy) and shooties. She is such a wonderful support for the BRF, does her job, never expects any kudos, and seems like such a lovely lady. I do like that there is some added fluff, feathers, or whatever on this beanie.

The brooch is old and from Queen Alexandra and has not been seen in public for a very long time. Queen Elizabeth probably never wore it. There is some information on Instagram by Trond Noren Isaksen.

The coat of princess Anne is to die for! Her hat also beautifull.
Sometimes she is so surprisingly good in her choices!
Queen Camilla wears a lovely coat and hat: what a beautifull colour.
Reminds me of her late mother in law, who always chose colours in which she stood out in a crowd.
The shoulders are vere cleverly done and make her look smaller.
Duchess Sophie’s coat fails to impress me, her hat likewise, sorry.

    1. When I first saw the photo of Camilla in her blue ensemble, I thought of Angela Kelly, the dressmaker/stylist to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
But I don’t think Angela Kelly ever advised the Queen to wear boots for such a formal occasion.
Having said that, I think it is a good ensemble for Camilla.

@ Mabel. "The shoulders are very cleverly done and make her look smaller". Just the contrary I would say, by using always too big shoulder pads she looks broader than she is.

I wonder what will happen about the third book Angela Kelly may write?
She was the Queen’s fashion designer, dressmaker and milliner for more than 25 years.
Queen Elizabeth II gave her written permission to write three books.
So far book n°1 and N° 2 have been done but N° 3 seems to be hanging in the balance.
      Negotiations with King Charles ??
I hope this remarkable woman is enjoying her retirement after more than 25 years of work for Her Majesty Elizabeth II.

  22. I think Q. Camilla, Anne and Sophie are beautifully dressed. The tailoring is very clever on all three coats, and the hats compliment well. Each lady chooses the length of their clothes they are comfortable with as I am sure those who have criticised do! Not sure what D of G was thinking in making her choice, perhaps it is her Danish quirkiness !

  24. The queen's brooch certainly is a wowzer. Has obviously been in the jewel vaults for far too long. Good that she brought it out. Pity that the Duchess of Edinburghs coat is swallowing her whole. The rest looks mighty fine to me. And - contrary to some others - I do like that the coat of the Duchess of Gloucester is shorter than her dress. It might become fashionable once again (it was some time ago, called a three-quarter length coat).

    1. The coat is not shorter than her dress, look at photo 6, infact it looks as though some faux for has been added to shorter coat.
