This year, Norway celebrates the 750th anniversary of Magnus Lagabøte's State Law. On January 31, Crown Prince Haakon and Queen Sonja of Norway held a reception at the Royal Palace on the occasion of the opening of the 750th anniversary of Magnus Lagabøte's State Law. King Magnus VI, who was nicknamed Lagabøte after his death, was the first king to unite all of Norway under one common law.

Magnus Lagabøtes landslov (Lagabøte's State Law) was a law covering the whole of Norway and was issued between 1274 and 1276. The law was the first to apply to Norway as a whole and is one of the first examples of comprehensive national legislation. The law is the reason that the king was given the name Lagabøte, "the one who improves the law".

Sonja is just looking great, stylish, well-dressed - at eighty-five.

  2. J'adore la couleur lie-de-vin de cette tenue dont le haut dans le style péplum a beaucoup d'allure ; la reine Sonja sait le décliner dans différentes nuances ; je ne me lasse pas de voir son collier à grosses perles !

Queen Sonja must be in her peplum period. Personally I do not like peplums, but this dress is the best of the 3 outfits she wore lately. I also like the color (wine red or more stone red ? I'm not sure.) That is a color Queen Camilla could wear too, now and then. I think she must look good in it, especially with her blond hair).

The burgundy dress combined with the modern necklace is perfect for the Queen. The «medieval» musician seems overjoyed to start celebrating the 750th anniversary - just lovely. Celia

She is such a class act. Camilla and in particular Anne could learn from Sonia and Silvia. Age isn’t preventing Scandinavian queens from being stylish. And they rewear again
