Oh no, just when she had a good look, she looks in this outing as if she just got out of the shower, threw on the first thing she came across in her massive closet. Sad, for a woman to look like that, especially one who is married to a King. jess

Hi Jess, human opinions are so interesting … I was just about to say isn’t she fabulous, dressed so appropriately and simply and cheerfully for a site visit, how I love how relatable she makes herself, how cool the safety boots are with her trousers tucked in because she’s more about the visit and humans than the trousers … and you think the opposite?! And both opinions are valid, because of course they’re opinions! Kind regards, AnneLise

Well, I think she is looking great in her stylish pant suit. And she is positive, energetic and smiling. All this criticism about her hair is a bit exaggerated.

This is a nice suit, but both pieces worn together is to much. Maybe a black pants?. Well, it looks good on her. css

  3. What a great visit! I'm sure the employee's enjoyed her visit. She is always so full of life, and interest in her surroundings. This pantsuit was the perfect choice, she looks great!

Hmmm--I like the trouser suit in theory but would prefer to see it as separates. All those small checks together are a bit much in my opinion. Still, the suit fits well and is a good choice for the visit. A ponytail would have been a better choice.

Well, I do have to admire her for not shying away from hard hats etc, even though it doesn’t lead to the most attractive photos ..

  7. An attractive brightly colored pantsuit let down by the usual unkempt looking hair.

This is a , to put it mildly, not a nice colour, for no one.
Donot like the big belt; I think when a jacket needs a belt it lacks cut.
    Refrain from commenting the hair….

Yes, I love this pantsuit too. The dark orange is still fashion this Winter. From a distance the pattern is hardly visible. I think Queen Maxima looks good, full of energy, friendly smiling, etc... Everything one can expect from a modern queen.

Ha ha! You realise they’re safety boots?! They’ll be mandatory for the work site. (Grace)

    2. Are you aware these are safety boots? She wore nude shoes for the visit, which go well with the orange/autumn colour of the suit. Although I am not a fan of checkers or houndstooth pattern surpisingly I like the suit. It is well cut and fits well. When it comes to the messy hair I have to close my eyes. But then I open them again see her captivating smile and say to myself: let it be, that's Maxima!

Giving comments already before you are aware she was given these safety boots on the spot to wear, because it is mandatory there, as is the helmet. She has to give the shoes and the helmet back when she leaves. She arrived with her own shoes on (picture N° 4).There is more than one participant on this blog who need glasses.

Again, creased clothing. The trouser suit is okay, of course orange is the Dutch colour, worn as a sign of respect or patronisingly one can only speculate. Thankfully no over the top tasteless jewellery. Maxima appears well groomed on State visits and hosting foreign dignatories but looks as though she has dressed and rushed out of her palace before grabbing her hairbrush when making visits such as this. Is she dressing down for the `ordinary` person, trying to appear as one with them? If I had been working at that workplace and had been looking forward to seeing/meeting `my` Queen I would feel insulted that she hadn`t made the effort to comb her hair - as a previous person noted even a ponytail would have been neater and perhaps more appropriate given the nature of the visit. I always get the impression she is trying too hard to show how enthusiastic/interested she is - a good actress.

Lucky the people in the Netherlands are not so narrow minded than you are. They don't mind that her trousers are creased after a long car drive and the orange is a fashion color in Europe this Winter.
Enough is enough, we just discussed the other day the fact that everyone think she does not care for her hair, that she even not brush it and then you come again with that story she doesn't even bother to brush her hair before going out. When she wore a hat in the past to visit a factory or a company she got comments that she was overdressed.
Not every country has the luck to have a queen with a warm and friendly character. She is not an actress, it is how she is. Maybe you are jealous that people love her for what she is. You on the contrary are not a good actress, because you cannot hide the fact that you do not like, well so be it, we don't need your opinion.

@Anon 17:52 Pot, meet kettle. If you are going to call out a contributor for being anonymous, you should practice what you preach.

As you are most certainly Anon 17:50 as well, DO NOT say we all share the same opinion about Maxima's hair. You may only speak for yourself. There are other contributors here that are not so narrow minded and understand the possible reasons for her hair's condition, and certainly understand how fabrics crease.

  14. J'adore ce tailleur/pantalon orange aux très petits motifs pied de poule mais pas du tout la largeur de la ceinture ; à mon humble avis, une petite ceinture moins large aurait mieux convenu !

      @Achard62
Le tailleur pantalon de la reine Maxima n'est pas nouveau. Il date d'une période que les ceintures larges étaient à la mode. Elle pourrait évidemment remplacer la ceinture par une moins large.

This is an old suit of Maxima which I always liked. And what is better than rewearing a suit for a visit to a recycling company? So well done, except of course the messy hair

  16. To look at and judge her global look of today, you need to look at picture 3 ! For me the suit is ok, incl the belt and so do her shoes. Regarding the hair we do not know how she was when leaving her castle. But she regularly goes into her hair with her hands, and that can make a considerable change. She definitely likes "freedom with hair".

I love this suit, the colour and the fabric houndstooth print. Few women can wear something like this stylishly (height, body shape, etc.) and Maxima is one of them. Very nice.

Anonymous 2/2/24 22:25 - such vitriol. I have my opinion which obviously differs from yours, but unlike you I would not hurl personal insult to another contributor on this site. There are no 'great distances' in the Netherlands, at least not when I lived there.

The pattern and color of the pantsuit is not attractive. Her hair is dried out and unhealthy looking and with all her money and personnel she could do something styled with it. No vitriol here just my honest opinion.

  20. She looks great and only Maxima can carry it off....I do think that her hair would have looked better in a bun.... Which is always stylish and appropriate in that setting.
