Mette Marit looks exquisit - I think her dress is absolutely fantastic and so are her jewelry, not too much, just enough toned down to match. And of course the Queen looks fantastic in her gown. Also, the dining “room” looks almost like a home and very cozy! Ac

All of the ladies look wonderful! How marvelous to see Princess Astrid walking in. I thought perhaps her mobility issues had gotten to the point where she would always need a wheelchair or mobility device. She looks great in her pale yellow/gold gown. I really like Queen Sonja's rather dramatic red?pink? gown--very elegant and different look--the flowing sleeves of my favorite part. CP M-M--fabulous! Love her gown--the sequined lace overlay is all the dazzle she needs. Its good to see her in something without ruffles. This rather spare style with sumptuouis materal is perfect for her. I love that she is wearting the amethysts--excellent choice of jewels for her gown as the purple stones are not fighting with lace and sequins. I'm not sure the necklace was a good addition as its struggling to show well with the neckline style and the sequins as the amethysts are not huge like the Swedish amethysts. But, the earrings and tiara--gorgeous!

I totally agree with you. I love the kaftan type sleeves of Queen Sonis dress. Amazing that she can still wear this over 30 years old dress designed by Erik Mortensen

  3. Lovely dresses all around. Been a while since we have seen the Queens Erik Mortensens pink dress. Nice to see it again. Also good to see MM in a different tiara than the one she usually wears, but wonder when we'll get to see one of those in Queen Maud's Diamond Tiara. Waiting impatiently ;)

The Queens dress is 33 years old! OMG I hope fit my dresses in 30 years time. They look fab. The blue on the president stunning. The pink dress on QS stunning. The fantastic sparkly dress on MM stunning. Princess Astrid. Love her to pieces 92 years young. So good to see her so healthy -Anna

Queen Sonia : dress in a lovely coral color which suits her very well, but the material is too stiff, too much material used to make the dress.
CP Mette Marit : this style of dress is looking very good on her, the amethysts in her jewelry match very well with the color of her dress. Beautiful make-up.
Princess Astrid : wonderful she needs no wheel chair today. Her dress is lovely but it would be much better with long sleeves.

  8. Difficult to decide who wins the title of “queen of the ball.”
Queen Sonja’s four strand pearl choker seems to be one of her favourite pieces.
I think I’ve seen it when she has added another single strand which gives it more “oomph”.
The table setting is simple and in good taste.
As blogger @Ac said "very cosy"

All the ladies look super elegant in their gowns and fine jewellery. The silver lace is gorgeous on the Crown Princess.

The Tanzanian president! Wow! Sometimes ”less is more” and here the colours in spare lines together with the embroidery in lavendel (?) makes an impressive and interesting appearance. And as said before, all ladies look fantastic.

Forgot: All ladies as well as the CP and the King, look fantastic. The coral colour goes so well together with the black colour. Marie
