The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days to continue her recovery."

"The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private."

A few days ago a lady mentioned that Princess Anne was accepting more commitments than Princess of Wales, that PoW does not like to work very much, that she could accept more work while her children were in class.
Commitments are scheduled several months in advance and perhaps a year. that Princess Anne accepts more commitments than PoW does not concern us, it is up to them to decide how many and which one they will accept. It turns out that PoW has health problems at the moment. This lady should have informed herself before making such thoughtless and insensitive comments.

I remembered that. This isn't the first time an ignorant and spiteful comment has backfired. Two other times there were rude comments about princesses and both times they announced their pregnancies shortly afterwards.

Mette-Marit went through the same. Nasty people commented everytime she got a sick leave that she was lazy, today we know the reason.

The Wales have never been hard-working for sure, aside from this unfortunate event. Mett-Marit who seems to be quite fragile works much harder. All other royals are more committed. In healthier situation, the Wales are not working much either. His wife is hospitalised, is William needs a 'sick leave' too? And do not tell the poor royals are busy looking after their young children with all the staff at their disposal. Late Queen Elisabeth, princess Ann, etc .... are doing better jobs than these 2 combined.
Anyway, wish her a speedy recovery, hope nothing serious.

I've noticed older generations tend to be harder working in general. The younger ones are in a different era where they are spoiled & never had to deal with hardships. They also take a lot of luxurious vacations. Let's not even get started with the Sussexes. Queen Elizabeth was more frugal and vacationed at places like Balmoral.

The situation seems serious as William is also taking time off to care for his wife. I don't think this is a routine procedure. Kate won't resume her duties until after Easter and has to spend 10-14 days in hospital.

10-14 days in hospital after a routine surgery is not normal so this sounds severe. Wishing her a speedy recovery from whatever ails her.

A long stay like this is normal for example with a hysterectomy ( yes speculating...)

Not in my country 1-3 days 7:49, but if we're going to speculate, it's probably more likely with a stoma or something like that Kate has undergone. Just don't understand the secrecy. People and the press will only speculate exactly as we do here ;)

My mother had a hysterectomy in the early 1990's by laparoscopic keyhole surgery. She was in the hospital only for a few days. And she was in her early 60's at the time. I don't think that is the surgery Kate had.

    5. I had a hysterectomy laparoscopically one year ago, and was in the hospital only overnight. Even a non-laparoscopic surgery would likely get less than 10-14 days, but this is royalty in a private hospital. We all know that people get sent home much faster than they once were, to save money. Still, it seems likely to me that this was a more serious surgery. I hope all will be well.

Think it's only extra care and precaution for people as precious as she is.... She can take as much rest as she wants, not really have any obligation to 'work'. Mette-Marit was sick, Haakon did not go on 'sick leave' as William. Different mentality and commitment.

So sorry this happened. This is the same woman who went into hospital in the morning, gave birth to a child, and left home with the baby in her arms in the afternoon...in heels. Three times. This has to be serious. I wish her and the family well!

You forget all the support she has. Be out in the public after giving birth is part of a very little must she has to do as the princess of Wales. Princess Diana did the same, so nothing out of ordinary action from Kate here. But yes, sorry to hear, hope her speedy recovery.

I was not a fan of this young woman during her courtship with William and during the early years of their marriage, but I underestimated her and I don't feel shy saying so. The PoW is amazing and has represented the UK on a level
that would probably make even the formidable Queen Mary proud. In fact, I believe that her absence will be felt in a manner that will prove she has become the House of Windsor's best asset. Get well soon Ma'am!-Jacqueline

Don't worry too much for him not having help and full support through this difficult time. I'm sure it's a successful surgery and she has full attention and support to get through this, she is young as well to overcome this, and no pressure hence plenty of time to rest and recover. All the best.

I'm sure that between their very experienced nanny, her mother who has always been on hand to help them with the kids in the past, plus who knows how many other close friends and experienced fill-in staff may be brought in, William will have all the help - and more - than he needs. The kids will be at school most of the day anyway. Best wishes to her for a safe recovery.
