On December 20 and 21, birthday receptions took place at Royal Castle ahead of Queen Silvia's 80th birthday. Queen Silvia received representatives from the Riksdag and government as well as academies and organizations, who wished to congratulate the Queen on the occasion of her upcoming 80th birthday.
During the reception, the Queen received the Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén and Prime Minister Tobias Billtröm. Subsequently, the Queen received people from academies and organizations, in which the Queen is involved. The Queen turns 80 on Saturday 23 December.

Should have been a lighter softer brown. Now it looks like a bearskin from the Coldstream guards.
Well that was a bit harsh, wasn't it... 🙄 She looks absolutely smashing, the pantyhose fit the style and the season perfectly. And her hair looks absolutely fabulous. Her natural coloring is very dark, her hair was practically black, thus a light brown colour would look ridiculous on her. If you don't want to let your hair to get totally grey or even white, then why not keep it closer to its original colour. I would be happy to look that good on my 80th birthday one day.

My dear old mum always said "if you say a negative, don't forget to balance it with something positive 😉.

ردحذفOh this outfit looks marvellous, I love the addition of the dark sheer hose, perfect choice. This ensemble looks so elegant, the color is gorgeous on her. Goodness she is wonderful for her age.
ردحذفThe Queen always looks very good in this red Chanel suite. Someone commented on her hair colour but we should not be too harsh in our comments. On my screen her hair has a beautiful dark brown colour, nothing black about it. Reproducing a photo to a screen can do all sorts of tricks to colour.
ردحذفWhile the Queen looks smart in her outfit, I am not a fan of the colour. If it was a different shade of red, or whatever it is called, it might look better. Overall the suit is well presented. Edwina
