Japanese Empress Masako turns 60. Masako Owada was born on December 9, 1963 at Toranomon Hospital. Masako became the empress of Japan in May 2019. On the occasion of that birthday, Imperial Household Agency of Japan released new photos of Empress Masako . The photos were taken on December 1 at the Imperial Residence's Small Hall in Tokyo.
What a beautiful lady, she looks as lovely and young as the day she was married. Her daughter is just as beautiful. The pearls, and clothes are equally as lovely. Edwina

Very happy birthday to Empress Masako. I sincerely hope her health gets better and better in the future. The embroidered scarf she is looking at in the picture is a splendid piece of craft, I can only wish we may see Empress Masako wear such colourful pieces to liven up her pale silk ensembles !

L'impératrice ne fait pas vraiment son âge ; elle a l'air très heureuse et décontractée sur ces photos mais au niveau de la mode, son ensemble élégant serait mieux avec une longueur à mi-mollet ; incontournables les perles qui apportent une touche délicate à son look. Masako a été gatée avec le cadeau d'un châle ou d'une étole aux grands motifs japonais !
ReplyDeleteMasako is such a graceful royal and one of my favourires. Being in this role hasn't been easy for her by any means but she has persevered and thrived. The coordination of the colours of the ladies outfits, the Emperor's tie and the floral arrangement is beautiful. I love the last photo of the three of them.

Wow, she doesn't look like sixty at all, in spite of the difficult time she's had. I hope they all get on well with each other, being such a small family in this situation must be very lonely.

Always assumed that the Empress would be about 40 years heading towards 50.

In February of next year, the Emperor will celebrate his 64th birthday.
