On December 15, Kingdom Day, Princess Beatrix of The Netherlands received the first Kingdom Calendar (Koninkrijkskalender) at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. The calendar was created by students from the Hague University of Applied Sciences, who are doing the minor in Kingdom Affairs, in collaboration with Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance and the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.

  1. Très élégante tunique à chevrons dont les couleurs lui vont à ravir ; ses boucles d'oreilles ont été judicieusement associées !

  2. I like this elegant, sophisticated look, especially the ideal cut of the trousers and the just-right flat (suade?) shoes. No dye job, no face work necessary for this regal lady.

  3. A charming young 85 year old princess still working hard for the Royal House of Orange-Nassau.
Always looking smart in her ensembles.
    BUT I miss her hats.

  4. I don't know is she is working hard. Receiving a calendar is not exactly working. What I do know is that King Willem-Alexander regularly asks his mother to accompany him and his family when they visit a theater or a performance , etc... Her visit to the Caribbean islands lately, is a visit that she still likes to do every year when it is already cold in The Netherlands. She likes the islands and its nature, the people too and I think they like her. Of course her name is still connected to organizations that she cares for. But I think she can get all the help she needs for the work she eventually has to do for this. Until now she also visits every year a small part of these organizations. She is also lucky to have an excellent health and I also admire her courage. Compared to her colleagues former king Albert II and queen Paola of Belgium, she is still very fit. King Albert had already problems with his hart in the past and became a really old man during the last couple of years, queen Paola also has had many health problems during the last years.
On several occasions they received comments that they preferred to live an easy life, but if you have not your health anymore you cannot be present as much as you would be. Royals are just human beings like anybody else.

    1. I have to wonder why your lengthy reply, with no name was printed, especially since it has nothing to do with fashion, or hair, makeup, hand bags, shoes etc. JJ

  6. Always elegant, yet I had to wonder at the eyebrows. First photo, appears as if it is one long eyebrow, then in another one, it looks as if they are really short, then long again in the 7th photo. Camera angles, shadows do make for some odd results. Her smile never is altered, thank goodness. Edwina
