  1. Very formal occasion, and they all looked very polished. Noone´s wearing anything crazy, so that´s good.
Charlene looks good but surprisingly wintery. The coat is awesome but wasn´t needed, likewise I think some simple pumps would been better than these red boots.
Caroline looks very classy. Her hat is a bit wide but still ok.
Stephanie´s outfit is good, and I like that she doesn´t shy away from choosing lower heels or flats.
Beatrice - the winered velvet is wonderful but I wish the coat dress (?) was a bit shorter. The hat is ok but not my favourite.
Alexandra used some make-up. Good for her. The black outfit is ok, but unnecessarily somber and way too short.
Charlotte, too, has chosen a skirt that´s way too short. Other than that her outfit is nice and surprisingly normal but she often lacks the right posture to make it elegant. As a result she usually looks more casual than everybody else.
It´s funny that Tatjana seems to be wearing the exact same outfit that Charlene wore just before.

    1. What’s with the too big Chanel suit that has to be cinched with a belt? Princess Stephanie is wearing a grey suit. Making her look very old. None are beautiful like Princess Grace.

  2. What a difference the cut of a coat can make! Compared to the exquisite cut of the previous sage coat (which was PERFECTION on her), this red coat is awkwardly voluminous and makes her look heavier. It is, however, a splendid color! So lovely to see Her Serene Highness again, and looking so , well, SERENE! Bravo, Charlene!

    6. Monaco is In a part of the world that has clear skies and at times, wind. The air temperature can be colder than the ground temperature. It has a dry cold and different to the humid cold found in northern Europe.
I live in a similar region with, at the moment, daytime temperatures of around 17°celsius. For me it is cold and I have to rug up.
I’d be happy to have Princess Charlene’s big coat.

      Hello, @ Deadeggs.
      Yes, you' re right again.
I'm in a hurry, anyway I just want to say that it' s no surprise Anonymous does not know anything about the difference between air and ground temperature.
She does not have a clue about anything she says, actually.
I have to cope with different temperatures on a daily basis in different parts of Europe and it gets hard sometimes.
Anonymous has never stepped out of her village, has never known anything and spoken anything but her own restrained amount of native language .
It's s so obvious in her hilarious comments.
Of course, she does not have a clue about contemporary fashion as well BUT she is extremely acquainted with hate and sadness.
      Die Arme.
      Ok, gotta leave now👋

    Charlotte what is that !!
Tatiana is wearing a similar jacket to the one Charlene wore yesterday.
Seems like Caroline and Stephanie are wearing outfits from previous national days.

  4. Oh … we had several days (only) of a really smiley Charlene and it was so good to think of her as happy.. and the photos of yesterday and today show very little smiling all over again. I hope it’s just the pics that were chosen, versus a lady who has struggled through her Monaco life from all accounts. She’s wearing a beautiful shade of red, but too much red turns out to be too much red, … and I would have preferred her in even old jeans and a white shirt with a SMILE than elegant expensive clothes and not much (visible) joy. 1. @ Grace
I saw pictures and a video on another site where she smiled all the time. Maybe the sun was shining in her eyes, not everybody supports that. If I cannot wear sun glasses for some reason, after a while I have tears in my eyes and I have painful expressions on my face.

    2. Good poin! I looked to some videos and saw her on the balcony watching the marching band and being looked at by the crowd and thought, maybe it’s just boredom and knowing she’s being watched! It’s true that other royal ladies are so generous in their smiles, so I was contrasting her to them, but it probably comes down to the very few photos we see here, which are only a few seconds’ worth of real-time faces! (Grace)

    3. Please don't read so much into her face. Nothing can be known from single snapshots. I think she is more comfortable in smaller settings, as many people would be. It is also difficult knowing that eyes and cameras are always trained on you.

I think red is a good colour for P Charlene but there is not much I like about this outfit. The coat is bulky and the wide lapels make her shoulders look wider than usual. I also get a feeling that the waistline sits too low but it might be an optical illusion. The boots are ugly, a pair of simple pumps would be so much better. The hat would probably look ok with a narrower less voluminous coat.
Princess Caroline and Beatrice Borromeo are both super elegant.

  7. I wonder why Princess Gabriella is dressed like a mini grannie ? I cannot think which child of her age would choose clothes like that. Her brother in that military uniform each time there is an official event is not to my taste either. His hat is way too big for his little head. Funny Tatiana Santo Domingo is wearing the same coat as Princess Charlene was wearing the day before. Lucky P Charlene did not wear the dress underneath, maybe she only bought the coat.

    1. Charlene dresses that child- or allows her to dress- far too old for her age. Kitten heels have no place on a little girl imho.

    2. To your information this is public knowledge since Charlene told Monaco Matin that Gabriella had said she wanted to wear a hat. PS is it much to at least try to be nice? Your comment is nasty from start to finish.

  8. Charlotte's outfit, I don't like. The skirt is too short, the black belt doesn't go with the outfit. She doesn't look well groomed or elegant, she always seem's to slouch.
Pss Charlene looks beautiful. Her outfit is well put together, overall a very elegant ensemble.
    Beatrice looks fabulous, gorgeous outfit.
Alexandra looks okay, but the skirt is too short, not a elegant look overall.
Pss Caroline, looks superb, beautiful suit, love the hat.
Pss Stephanie looks nice, but I dislike her choice of shoes.

  10. Had Charlotte's skirt been a few inches longer, this would have been one of her best National Day appearances. Seriouasly I have no idea what the heck she and her sister Alexandra were thinking!

Charlene is red. Deep red. Too red. I am not a fan of her look this year, it's simply too much red.

Beatrice look elegant but unremarkable. Her best accessories are her sons, truly two of the most beautiful children I have ever seen. They resemble archangels.

Speaking of children, Gabriella in kitten heels just doesn't seem right imho. And she is dressed way too dark for such a little girl.

Princess Caroline takes top honors for overall elegance imho. She looked perfect.

    1. I don't think that Gabriela's shoes are kitten heels, which are usually like a low stiletto. These are block heels like the formal shoes worn by forces personnel and the same as we wore to school when we were just a little older than Gabriella's

    2. You are correct, AnnieM. Not at all kitten heels.

    5. @AnnieM
These are not block or kitten heels, but simply little heels that women of a certain age start to wear when they cannot wear high heels anymore.
I never was allowed to wear such shoes at school because we had to wear white socks and flat shoes until the age of 15-16 years (Gabriella is 9). During winter we were allowed to wear boots with flat heels of 3 cm. Something else that I discovered on one of the pictures, she is also wearing black leather gloves that are too large for her.

  11. Charlotte Casiraghi's and Princess Alexandra's dresses/skirts are too short. The dresses of the little girls on these pictures are too long.

  12. Beatrice wins the day. Effortlessly classic and beautiful. Great color. Princess Charlene's coat fits strangely and the boots are too much of a good thing (the red color). Her dress underneath is great. Princess Caroline looks lovely, as expected and Princess Stephanie has come into her own comfortable style.

Charlotte and Princess Alexandra's skirts are far too short. Charlotte's styling with the belt makes her look a bit unkempt and as though she's going to grab a coffee with a friend. A hat could have improved the look, but she overall just looks totally casual.

  14. Beatrice Boromeo by far the most radiant classical outfit in beautiful dark red velvet. Charlene, the model of her coat totally wrong. Makes her already broad shoulders even more broad. Together that irlt is too much red. Charlotte a lovely Chanel suit ( what else) but I think she shouldn't have worn it with a skin coloured pantyhose. Caroline in a very elegant Chanel suit

    ReplyDelete
  15. Charlene had probably planned to wear that coat and did not change her plans in spite of good weather conditions. The coat suits her quite well, even if it is a bit sophisticated. I would also have preferred black boots.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Charlene looks fabulous! Love the red coat ,hat, and dress. I do wish she had not chosen the red boots though. Caroline looks elegant as does Beatrice--both are beautifully turned out from their hats to their shoes. Charlotte and Alexandra are wearing pretty suits but their skirts are too short for such an important occasion--don't have a problem with short skirts just not for everywhere, anytime. Also, Charlotte also has dreadful posture which doesn't help her appearance. Would love to see more of Tatiana's outfit--her coat is so similar to the one Charlene just wore. She's also wearing an interesting dress underneath. Stephanie looks nice--good on her for choosing shoes that are nice and comfortable. Finally, Gabriella looks great! Her hat and coat are pretty--and her heeled shoes are exactly what so many little girls dream of wearing.

  17. As expected, Beatrice is the most elegant and always appropriate. She has the right length of hair for the curls as well

I think Charlene’s outfit would work well if the outside temperature was -17C and not +17. Seems she attended a different event than everyone else. And as far as Gabriella goes, it’s unclear to me why her mum would dress her as if she was going to a funeral. It is in fact a somber celebration in general, but since Charlene is outfitted completely in red, little girl’s dark, drenching colour with heels (!!) makes it even more difficult to understand.

Nothing surprising imo about Caroline and Stephanie. Charlotte and Alexandra look like they were on their way to a teenager party - and whilst both can pull of short hems, it is rather bizarre how they didn’t consider how inappropriate they dressed for the situation.

  18. Agree with Achard62 that black boots would have been better and with other posters that the coat is bulky but still think Princess Charlene looks superb in red
Prince Jaques in his formal uniform and Gabriella in her perfect coat and hat are adorable.
Princess Caroline is at her elegant best and Princess Stephanie’s coat is smart but I think she suits stronger colours better. A shoe with even a low heel would have improved the look.
The outfits of Princess Alexandra and Charlotte Casiraghi are far too short while the gorgeous outfit of Beatrice Borromeo is. A tad too long
Princess Caroline’s grandchildren are just as good looking as their parents and it’s lovely to see them smartly dressed.
Think how proud of them all Prince Ranier and Princess Grace would be

  19. Great look for everyone. Really like Charlene's combination the color is fantastic on her. Little Gabriella's coat is in her mother's style. Also, little heels on her shoes. Beatrice is a yes. The uniform on Jaques looks nice he watches his father and salutes . Alexandra and Charlottes skirts are way too short. In a strange way I like Tatianas combination as well, she looked good. Caroline in a classic Channel Nice to see Stephany wearing a hat. css

  20. Beatrice is elegance personified! Beautiful rich claret coat and matching pillar box hat hits all the right notes.
Charlotte look is disappointing. The skirt is way too short for such an official ceremony.
Pss Charlene, love the rich red,but the wide lapels are not flattering. Though her ruby and diamond earrings are divine!
Gabriella seems to be dressed in a mini version of her mother’s ensemble.I was surprised to see her in heeled shoes. She’s only 9 this year, way to young to be introducing heeled shoes.
Tatiana is always so bohemian in her choices. Her children are beautifully presented.

  25. It seems that in Monaco the hereditary prince wears a uniform on national day whatever his age. Albert wore a uniform when younger than Jacques today. I've also seen a photo of grandfather Rainier, age three (3), wearing uniform so it is a tradition of at least 100 years.
Gabriella's "too dark" dress/coat: in different photos the blue colour varies from dark to bright, so what it really was? And a guess: perhaps Gabrielle wanted a colour near the uniform colours of her father and brother.
