On the evening of the second day of their official visit to the UK, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel attended the Royal Variety Performance at Royal Albert Hall, at the invitation of the Prince and Princess of Wales. The show, which is televised in the UK, is held annually to support British cultural practitioners and entertainers.
Crown Princess Victoria and Catherine, Princess of Wales are beautiful, calm, regal, and well loved by their respective handsome husbands.
ReplyDeleteAgree that the teal color is good on Kate. I’m not enamored of the pronounced spiked square shoulders or the hunks of hair falling in her face. Victoria is the best here for me with the just right décolleté and elegant gown.

Interesting. I will reserve my final judgement until I can see the gowns fully and from better angles, but I think both Catherine and Victoria look very elegant. I very much like the teal colour of Catherine´s gown and the dramatic sleeves combined with the sleek, simple cut of the dress. I do not like the exaggerated shoulders (at all). In Victoria´s case, I very much like the open neckline, the unusual material and the modern jewellery. I don´t like that what I assume is some sort of stole is of the same material as the dress - it might be too much of a good thing.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately not very good pictures of what CP Victoria is wearing but it does not look very good. Dress and cape?? Dress seems to sit too low and the whole outfit reminds me of one of the muppets. I don´t like the very sharp protruding shoulder pads we have seen in many dresses worn by PoW.

The way Catherine is looking at William, I just love the look of love! emanating from her heart, lovely to see. she looks stunning. Love the teal color. Her hair and makeup are on point. The gown suits her well. Victoria looks glamorous, love her overall look, she looks very stylish. Daniel looks fantastic in this tux. He looks so well groomed and elegant. He has a very good tailor! Its so nice to see a man, well tailored and look so handsome.

I do like the colour on Kate's dress but imv the model is not the best for her figure. These type of dresses are a bit her style but I'd rather see her in clothing with a little more volume

The same designer as the one who made the white dress she wore at the last state dinner ? It had also the same shoulder pads. Sorry but this I do not like at all. Ruins all the rest. Princess Victoria seems to wear a dress in a black faux fur fabric. As we cannot see the whole dress, I cannot give any opinion.
ReplyDeleteI like the color of Kate’s dress, but do not care for the dress’s shoulders. I can see how shoulders like that on a dress could be helpful when wearing a sash, such as at the recent State Banquet, but they look too broad on her here, in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteI never saw these royal ladies in dresses with big pointy shoulder pads. I think you refer to the cape dresses in general. But Catherine's dress is not a cape dress. It has long special sleeves but not a cape.

I don’t like Kate’s dress. I don’t like this color on her, the fabric, the shoulder pads, the sleeves/cape and the overall design. Overall a bit too prim. I think she has beautiful hair, but this style is a bit juvenile. It also has the disadvantage of her always having to touch her hair, rearranging it slightly, scratching her head. For a royal who must shake hands with the public it should be unacceptable. Can you imagine the late queen doing this? Perhaps that’s the reason why Victoria in official functions almost always has her hair tightened in a bun or a ponytail. I do like the décolleté on Vic’s dress.

I am not the biggest fan of Princess Catherine either but she cannot not always hide that she is only a human being, which is good. Isn't it time that all the old prejudices disappear ? The fact that she must shake hands with the public, at least she is not wearing gloves which, where I live is considered as not polite.

I think Victoria looks very nice here - the texture of the fabric makes the look unusual and a little special, methinks. I am not sure about the gold accessories with the inky black, though - but it's not a deal-breaker...
ReplyDeleteMy first impression is that Catherine looks like a Bond-girl - with that impressive blow-out, sleek silhouette and subtle sparkle. I suspect that like most of us, having a good hair-day lifts the spirits! She must have had a very difficult day with all the unnecessary catiness swirling around her, so if she needed the armor of some gorgeous hair to make her feel better, then so be it! Anyhow, I think the look would have lost its youthfulness if she had had an up-do.
But most of all, I love the two warm and supporting spouses, who both looked very dapper for their ladies!
