  4. She seems to be on her own without Edward on most of her visits and engagements. Anybody knows why? Is Edward not working for the Royals or does he have his own assignments?

    1. Prince Edward has his own engagements. For example, he goes to the Duke of Edinburgh Award committee meetings himself and is always very well prepared and engaged. I had the honor to meet him twice on that occasion (I represented my country in the committee). Organizing a project involving thousands of young people from different countries requires a lot of work in terms of organization, diplomacy and fundraising.
Edward's work, or Princess Anne's and partly Sophie's, is under the radar, out of the spotlight. They don't bring their own photographers with them, they do their work quietly and modestly, without hype or complaint or whining, which is why I am very outraged by the latest attack by the Sussex mouthpiece - O. Scobie, who kicked and insulted the whole family, including Edward and his wife, and poured buckets of filth on them .

    2. They both have so many patronages that the only way to cover their commitments is to do them separately. Their new roles of Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh came with a lot more work - locally and globally - in addition to what they had before. Doing their rounds separately means twice as many people. Purely work load, nothing personal.

    4. Thanks all 3 of you, as I don’t live in the UK I don’t really hear about other Royals apart from the fashion blog here.

  5. Quanta dolcezza e calore in questa donna. Ma perché viaggia sempre sola? Un po' come Mary.

  6. A smart and practical outfit.
    Hair looks lovely.
Just not sure about the white shoes.
I admire the causes that Sophie gets involved in.

    1. I don't care for her shoes either. They look like a distraction, not part of a cohesive look.

  8. Au premier abord, belle robe à pois que j'aurais voulu mieux voir sans la petite veste ; j'ai toujours aimé les chaussures de couleur blanche mais pour cette occasion, je pense que ce style ne correspond pas à la tenue !

  9. I like her in this dress and jacket. If the dress was a bit shorter and the white shoes replaced by another color (black, nude, light grey, red maybe ?) it would have been perfect. Her hair is beautiful. A pity there is always something in the Duchess of Edinburgh's outfits that ruins the rest.

    1. When a photo appears on this site of the Duchess, there is always a or several comments about the length of her dress/skirt.
This is a classic British length and is part of their fashion culture.
Agree, about the shoes. Not the best choice.

    2. Often if you compare the photo of Sophie and the photo of the model, Sophie's dress is really out of proportion (with this one it is not the case). Sometimes when Sophie is wearing a midi dress it hangs on her ankles, as she is not very tall. In that case it is not a midi dress anymore and I find it not very elegant.

  11. Absolutely lovely.... till you get to the shoes - rather nude or black surely? Pity, as the rest is rather nice.

  15. Good solid dress for the occasion, though the shoes are not quite the right colour. Edwina
