On November 24, 2023, Queen Letizia of Spain attended the 16th International Seminar on Language and Journalism at Yuso Monastery in La Rioja. This year, the seminar focused on climate change, language and communication, and was organized by the San Millán de la Cogolla Foundation and the FundéuRAE, and took place on November 23 and 24.

ReplyDeleteCan’t quite see her shoes but they look practical and easy to walk in and comfortable! And she still looks elegant, and approachable. I’d be so happy to see a major move away from the centuries’ old fashion of shoes that damage feet, to change shoe fashion to where “really comfortable” is seen as really excellent for every occasion. Except maybe with tiaras.

ReplyDeleteGreat look here--can't go wrong with taupe and black. Like the fact that QL chose to wear comfortable shoes for the event instead of sky-high heels. I know she's had foot problems in the recent past so I can only imagine she might need to wear a different style and today's fashion choices made that possible. Love her casual, business look.

The pants don't fit. The rest : nothing special.
ReplyDeleteHer pants have a "mens" look about them. I think it's the colour and the fall of the fabric.

I think the trousers have a masculine look because of the chunky black shoes. If she had her normal court shoes with heels they would look more elegant. Like the sweater with these trousers. Not a fan of the coat.

Sometimes, there are outfits that I have a feeling I can predict what the comments will be after seeing only a few pictures. I was correct about the trousers. They are menswear inspired in pattern and cut. The wide leg and pleating is deliberate and they fit exactly as designed. They are not too big! They are also still available and on sale if any of you feel inclined to step out of your comfort zone. Letizia has paired them with chunky sole loafers, sans stockings. The shoes are affordable as well. The close fit sweater is a perfect balance to the flow of the trousers. She accessorized with her Gold & Roses Shewel Triple Hoops, which are among my favorite earrings she wears. Topping everything off is the gorgeous lamb leather trench. For me, it doesn't get any better! This is an outfit I would wear in a heartbeat.

DeleteI have seen many fashion pictures of the same look Letizia is having here. And yes, she looks perfect. The pants are getting bigger and bigger in 2024, so called "daddy pants". Not everyone looks good on it but Letizia surely does. I love that trenchcoat.
I haven't heard "daddy pants"! I don't know how I feel about that name, but I can see where it comes from. I think you are doing quite well expressing yourself. You will pick up more and more expressing yourself here.
